Bug: Video Effect: Write on: Brings Premiere to its knees on powerful PC
Anyone tried using the 'Write on' effect?
For me, it's 100% useless, on a modern £1,500 workstation laptop built for Premiere.

It's really frustrating because I've spent a lot of time trying to problem solve this, I've spent a bunch of money on the software and on the computer, and it doesn't seem well optimised (especially compared to Final Cut Pro on Apple, for example). Hence, drawing a red line over some video destroys my computer and brings Premiere to its knees.

Thanks Kevin, but I'd rather the feature worked (was viable - currently it's not a viable feature, performance wise) or it be removed.
AE shares hundreds of features with Prem, but I don't consider drawing a line onto my picture very advanced motion graphics, so suspect the software is written badly if that's destroying my edit suite, when having multiple streams of concurrent graded HD video with animated titles etc plays perfectly

After Effects is better suited to this task. FYI.
