Enable keyboard shortcut modification for captions
Enable keyboard shortcut modification for captions. There's currently no easily identifiable way to commit text in captions; when you press enter/return it just goes to a new line, and when you press esc, it deletes everything you've just entered. There should be an option to reassign the esc key to commit text, to bring the caption shortcuts in line with the graphic/titles shortcuts & the shortcuts for the captions window should be easier to find within the program, along with the Adobe website. This suggestion has been previously implemented in Photoshop, and was received well by the community.

This is a request from Amelia is regarding the previous version of Premiere Pro Captions. My request is similar, but with the current version of captions.
Once the Text panel is selected, I would like a KBS to be able to edit the text.
1. Once the Text panel is selected, I want to edit the text.
2. I do not want to touch the mouse and double-click the text.
3. I want a KBS to get into "edit mode" with the text.
4. If the text was ready to edit, I could start typing immediately.
Now, I'm stuck with having to grab the mouse and double-clicking on it, which I feel, is not a very compact workflow.

Yes - it would be great if the shortcut Ctrl - Alt - ' which works for text graphics, would also work for captions. Also it would be great if it worked from the timeline and to not have to go and click on it in Essential Graphics first.
