Font Issues
The apparent bug fix for font issues, solved nothing in v12.1.1. Active fonts is Suitcase Fusion v8 do NOT show up in Premiere Pro. Those fonts work in other Adobe products like Photoshop and Illustrator but not PP or AE.

Please let us know if this is still an issue.

Thanks Matt and Daniel, I sent you an email with some more questions.

This is still an issue as of PPro 22.3.1. Trying to use Roboto fonts I've used for years with MOGRTs within Premiere. Suddenly they're not available.
Tried deactivating then reactivating. Tried logging out of CC, then logging back in.
Finally deactivated Roboto within CC desktop app and just installed Roboto font family directly in Windows. -

I'm having this issue with the most current Premiere Pro version 22.1.2. Even with Creative Cloud Desktop open, this still occurs.

I have spent many hours looking for a solution to this problem, which is to get 2 fonts loaded.
Missing Font: "SofiaProRegular"
Missing Font: "SofiaProBold"
They are not missing. They are genuine Microsoft installed fonts. -
Hi Scott,
Would you mind sharing your project file and the names of the fonts that you're missing?
I'd love to help get this figured out with you.
Cheers,

Latest updates seem to have bought this font problem back.
Ae v16.1.2
Pr v13.1.2Fonts that are missing so far for me are, Helvetica & Eurostile. Both font's are installed (via 2 font managers) and available in Photoshop and Illustrator but not in Aftereffects!
The fonts are ttf, ttc and font suitcase formats

Many fonts don't work. Frustrating having magic updates and suddenly a project is ruined because fonts are no longer recognized. If it's installed in the OS then the program should use them.

Hello, I'd like to add my voice to requests to fix the bug in Premiere that stops it seeing the fonts already installed on my system. I'm just astonished this hasn't been fixed yet, given how long these complaints seem to go back, and the kind of professionals who use your software.

I am syncing Bernhard Gothic URW via Adobe Typekit. I can't see the font in Premiere, but Photoshop recognizes it. Please tell me why, and fix this issue.

Hi Matt, thanks for taking the time to report this. The fix for 12.1.1 addressed the crash on startup issue with PostScript Type 1 fonts, but as you note, did not make those fonts available again for use in Premiere Pro/After Effects. We are aware that users would like to continue to use PostScript Type 1 fonts and are working with the team that provides this technology to see if there is anything that can be done on this front.
A little background on this - PostScript Type 1 is a font format that was introduced in the 80s and was superseded by OpenType in the 90s which enabled use on both Mac & Win. Type1 fonts have a file extension .pfb, .pfm, or .afm. OpenType fonts have the extension .otf. You should be able to inspect fonts on your machine using FontBook (Mac) or your Font Settings (Win) to see what kind they are.
To work around the problem use anything from the era of Open Type (mid-90s) or newer. Typekit Font are especially easy to add and manage and most of them come free with your CC subscription.
Here is an FAQ document to help you identify and move to OpenType fonts: https://www.adobe.com/products/type/opentype/opentype-T1-faq.html
Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts with us and we’re sorry for the frustration it’s caused. Hope this helps.

We have thousands of fonts, how do I know if they're Type 1 or not. If they are old, what is the new supported format? Post script?
Does that mean that all of our old fonts will no longer work? Why on earth would they do that to such a large community of users. They just screwed us if thats the case. -
If you have a non-working Font you can send me, then I may be able to get a request logged to support it for you? But if it any of them happen to be old type-1 fonts, support was removed by a shared technology team in 2018.1.

Whenever I am choosing between file format for my fonts, PostScript is always number 1, Windows TrueType is number 2 (as macOS supports it), Mac TrueType is number 3, OpenType is number 4 and Bitmap is immediately discarded.

A huge swath of fonts are no longer supported. This is such a big step backwards. The ability to use all font options is essential to what many of us do, and if Premiere is going to have the "Pro" monitor, it needs to act like it by supporting all font formats. Currently none of my PostScript fonts work.
