Bypass cache, drive and media settings for temporary project opening
I use my laptop as my main editing system, but I sometimes need to open a project to just look at sequence names, data, etc, when not connected to my media and cache drives. It would be great if there was an 'Open without Media or Drives this time' option, so that the user wouldn't have to go through the menus announcing missing cache drive, setting scratch disks, and the Locate Media panel

Perhaps the solution is a settings file for Scratch disks? That way, you could easily reassign sets of drives as you move around.

Hi Philip, thanks for the idea. We'll keep an eye on it here to see if this is something other people would like as well.
In the mean time, you can sort of do this already using Media Browser. You could open a new empty project and then open Media Browser to get into the project you want to check out. You can then peek in sequences, bins, etc without having to go through the relink or scratch disk dialogues.
Thanks,
Matt
