Video turned into audio files in Premiere Pro CC 2018 upgrade
Half my video files went offline. Turned the .Mov files into audio clips.
This started when I hit Window-Extensions-Assets (I was searching for pluraleyes)
I upgraded to 2018 and re-imported. No luck. Video files imported as audio.
I converted the files to Mp4s. No luck.
I changed root file name and re-imported. Half worked.
I changed root file name of the other half. Half worked.
I changed root file name of the other other. The rest worked.
Note: My MTS files shot on Canon were not affected. Just the footage shot on the Nikon.
I understand there is a hack to return project to old version of Premiere Pro. I would suggest a more simple fix to 2018.
I have the same issue but have isolated it to mp4 footage shot on our Canon at 59.94 fps. The first 5-10 clips come in fine, then the rest of the files import as audio only. This happens when updating old projects and when starting a new project. When I bring the files into encoder and convert to ProRes they all import into the newest version. When I go back to 12.0 all the files work as 59.94 mp4 files. I have gone back to to using 12.0. Hopefully the bug will be worked out in the next update.
