Export .MP4/.MOV (any format) in same folder of .PRPROJ file
⌘M Export Settings should auto-select the location that the current .prproj file is saved in, not the last exported location, which is often from a completely different project.

Here is what I believe would be the best solution to Pr's exporting problem: https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro/suggestions/42617104-relative-export-paths-please
Please take a look and add your votes there!
There are 6 or so FRs already asking for the same exporting issue to be fixed, so I'm hoping to consolidate all of the votes under a single thread.
I've attached an illustration as a preview of my solution. Lets all vote to get this issue fixed once and for all! Thanks!

The MULTIPLE FRs asking for the export location to be set on a project per project basis vs the universal saving location we currently have beg to disagree with your incorrect assertion on how users prefer that exporting works. Did your team actually consult any real editors when coming to your faulty conclusion?
As TaranVH says, video exports should go in the last used location for that specific project, not merely into the last overall location."
I agree with you that "Usually our users prefer... auto-select the last exported location.", BUT ONLY within an individual project! If I last exported into my project's 'Exports' folder, that's where I'll probably want to export to every time I export from that project. BUT... why would anyone want to automatically export into project A's 'Exports' folder when working on project B, C or Z???
What users need is the ability to set a RELATIVE export path, just like the amazing Excalibur plugin allows users to set (see illustration). This way, by setting the relative path to .\Exports for example, exports will always appear inside the 'Exports' folder associated to a project: Project A automatically exports into project A's 'Exports' folder, project B automatically exports into project B's 'Exports' folder, and so on.
If for some reason a user ever wanted to always export to the same folder, regardless of which project is exported from, reverting to Pr's current exporting behavior would be as easy as setting a non-relative path such as 'Desktop'.
Giving users proper options makes it a win win for EVERYONE!
I always thought this exporting issue was a programming mistake, but to find out it was programmed this way on purpose is truly disheartening as it reveals a complete lack of touch with what editors actually want and need. :(
Please fix this once and for all!
I have a request that is similar to this, which I think makes more sense:
Video exports should, by default, go in the last used location for that specific project or sequence, not merely into the last overall location.
I have a video explanation:
It is item 24 in this spreadsheet:

Or add 2 buttons 1) current project 2) last exported...

Thanks for posting this idea. Usually our users prefer it the other way around: auto-select the last exported location. It's more common exporting several times from the same project than shifting between projects. That's mainly why we developed it that way. Let's see if other users vote for your suggestion. All the best.
