Request: Ability to remove recent projects from the Start Screen via right click menu
Hi. Occasionally I have a backup Premiere Pro project file saved that has the same or very similar name as the one I am intending to work on. This usually happens when I have made an emergency save of a recovered project after a crash.
In the Start Screen it is very easy to pick the wrong project and continue working - despite it being in my "EMERGENCY SAVES" folder on the desktop instead of my regular and intended project folder.
To avoid this I would like to be able to remove an entry of a recent project from the start screen.
I'll give more detail on what's happening in my mind for the UX folk: After a crash I go into damage control mode - trying to remember when the last auto save was, looking to see the Creative Cloud has finished syncing backup files, checking the time so I can see how long before the last auto save, reflecting on what I did in order to memorize it in case I need to do it again, etc etc.
When I restart the PC and open the recovered project Premiere Pro wisely suggests I save quickly and not over the original project file. "Great", I think (as these recovered files usually work - although I don't get them very often). I have an "EMERGENCY SAVES" folder that is easily accessible precisely for this purpose. I save the file here and append "_RECOVER-##" to the filename.
Now, after I have inspected both files and recovered as best I can - saving, backing up and copying and pasting sequences etc etc. I want to remove all but the regular project file from the Start Screen (without deleting any emergency saves or backups).
My User-Interface-Gut-Feeling^(TM) says that I will be able to right click on the project and select "Remove from recent projects list" or something similar.
I know that I can hover over the name in order to see the location - however this is not the time I get confused about which is the correct version of the project. I'm acutely aware right now that there are many versions and only one of them is correct. The issue is that say I carry on work with OTHER projects, go home from work, return to this project after several days of crazy work. The bottom entry of the Start Screen has the project name I want to work on but I don't realise
THIS IS THE BACKUP COPY! Maybe I renamed the correct version to work on so it removed itself from the recent list. Maybe I opened the backup version in order to check something. For whatever reason - I begin working on the wrong file. Occasionally I notice the location tooltip that pops up and catch myself before opening but not every time.
My suggestion to be able to right click on an entry and remove from the Start Screen would mean that right there and then when I am in "file management mode" I can make sure there is no confusion for future me.
Thanks for reading.
