Playback Monitor Scaling that Works
My idea is to make the "For Output of unsupported frame sizes" option box work,
using a UHD timeline, and a 1080p monitor, we should be able to preview out to a BMD card. Please just give us a way to manually select an output preview res, regarldess of Sequence res.
Right now this option box doesn't do anything.

I agree with Joseph Hung. The fact that Resolve has a solution to this seems like Premiere ought to as well.

However, within Davinci Resolve, you have output scaling options, which is absolutely essential when dealing with different frame sizes and aspect ratios. Nowadays, with the amount of digital content being made in aspect ratios such as 4:5, 1:1, 9:16... the external monitor stretches it out to fit the 16:9 screen. It's hard to work with your creative teams in this way.
We have a workaround for it, but it adds extra steps and time to the post workflow. It would be really nice to have control over how to present your different aspect ratio edits on natively 16:9 monitors.
Although it could be a BMD driver limitation, but they were able to code this feature into Resolve.

This is a Blackmagic driver limitation. BMD writes these software controls, not Adobe.

The whole point of Mercury Transmit is that the signal goes out from the sequence without alteration of any kind. This is best.
