External GPU support
macOS 10.13.4 High Sierra brought native support for Radeon eGPUs. However, there is not OpenGL support in Premiere Pro 2018 and Metal Support is very slow. It would be great to use Nvidia Cards for CUDA but, Mac does not support those cards.
We will not be adding support for older cards, in newer macOS releases.
Why does PPCC no longer support Mercury GPU open GL acceleration? I just bought an expensive graphics card and now it is no longer an option on my older Mac Pro tower.
I just want my RX580 eGPU to work with premiere... It's killing me
Have to use Resolve when on my MBP until this gets sorted out, please implement a GPU choice, either internal or external, AMD or Nvidia. Metal2 is very slow and not a solution presently. OpenCL works on MBP screen but only displays white screen on ext monitor using OpenCL with Radeon Vega64. Thanks.
That is a great solution. However, those hacked solutions require SIP to be disabled which isn't the safest solutions for large businesses and the threat of a cyber attack. I would rather be able to use the tools that Mac natively supports and stay with AMD cards.
I install High Sierra 10.13.4 and cuda don't work they ask to update but don't exist a newer version
in the Nvidia site. to works with Nvidia cards like GTX 1080 TI I recommend OS Sierra with Nvidia WEB Driver they works fine.
