Relative file paths
Please allow some form of relative file paths for linking media. Using networked storage between Macs and PCs is bothersome with all the re-linking that needs to take place.

I just recently found out that Premiere is not using relative paths, making moving projects from one place to another a nightmare...
They really should switch to relative paths, I just don't see the point of using absolute pathways.

Is unbelieveable that we are in 2020 and Adobe Premiere can't use relative paths

What the ****!!!!! This is so basic that i even can't believe it.
I automatically assumed relative paths would be the default. I was wrong. I don't see how absolute paths for media linking would be useful. At least add the option to use relative paths on a project by project basis. It would also be nice for the Project Manager to have an option for maintaining the current folder structure, rather than just consolidation.
I have the exact same relative paths set up on the 3 computers i work on. This is a common user scenario, not unique at all. I have a work computer, a home desktop, and a mobile laptop, and I need to quickly access my premiere projects/source files, every day - often from a different computer.
I made paths relative thinking it would solve this. Please fix this as soon as possible. please.
Should be a fundamental to have relative, not absolute paths.
It is not acceptable for us, working with different computers on the same project, that filepaths are only absolute values!
Thank you for understanding!

I came here for the same feature as well.
I sometimes move projects around (from and to archive). And sometimes the files end up at different locations. Relinking would not be necessary if the folder structure remains the same.
Indeed! I just came here to write the same. Also, all Adobe products should be able to locate files in subdirectories. So if you point to a top level folder 'media' all of the subfolders like 'audio' and 'video' should be searched. Using the metadata selections is enough to help limit the search and the recursive file path option would speed up this process quite a bit.
Please add this option. A great features that will benefit a lot of users!!
