Way to go, Adobe. Nearly completely stable CC2018, you force the upgrade, and now we have a search box that's unusable.

Search tool does not work fro everyone in my office. Greatly slowing down our work flow. Sometimes you can quit and restart premiere, but that doesn't always work. HELP!

search bar is greyed out across multiple projects. A newly created file seems to work sometimes, but not if multiple video files are in the project.

Same here. Can't even work with this. And Even I can't go back to Previous version, because all my projects already updated to newer version.

In addition to this problem there is a part where when you are in the import dialogue box and can't search for an item. When you type on search bar on top right nothing shows up.
By default the search filter is set to "All Supported Media". I have to manually go and change to png or jpeg for it to be able to search.
Basically it won't search when the filter in set to "All supported media".

Premiere 12.1.1 (Build 10), Windows 7. Search/Filter box almost always unavailable with this new update.
If I start a new project and then import a saved project into it, I can get the search/filter box to re-activate _for that session only_. If I save, shutdown, and restart Premiere, the dialogue is greyed out again even for the new project.
Sometimes it will not reactivate even if the create-new/import-old process is repeated.
The problem is recreatable.

My search bar works intermittently and it's VERY frustrating. I'm working on the newest version of PP on a late 2015 iMac with 32GB RAM.

Is there a way to flag two issues as related or the same? I've voted for this option before and if you combine the votes it's happening a lot.

This issue has plagued us for a while, sometimes it fixes itself, sometimes not. Not exactly sure what kinds of actions or situations make it work vs. not work. But it is *very* frustrating in a complex project where you need to find certain assets.
