My doc project has 17,000 files and shot over the span of 10 years with months spent organizing and keywording. I'm deep into the edit now and this is hugely frustrating.
Broken and unsearchable!!! Thanks Adobe.

The search feature is still not working. Very frustrating and seems like it should be an easy fix.

@Mick Staines, did you have to convert your files to XML to open them in an older version of Premiere?

"Don't update complex project across major new versions of Premiere Pro. -
Overall, however, you should start and finish a project using the same version for fewer issues like this."You're not serious are you Kevin? If you are, Adobe Premiere Pro is certainly not the idea software for documentary films which can take years of dedication to complete.
Please get this fixed soon!

To update my previous comment below, I took Kevin Monahan's advice on creating a brand new project. I just spent the last few hours rebuilding my project, importing all my footage from a clean slate. I can confirm that the search bar is still not working. For example, I have hundreds of clips with markers like "B-Roll", "Night", "Timelapse", etc. However, when searching for those words, only a few of them, sometimes none, show up. This is frustrating beyond words, especially when seeing how far back this problem has gone back for people. Now I'm busy looking to see if my markers will translate over to DaVinci Resolve.
To clarify, the above method of creating markers in Prelude and being able to search for them in Premiere is something I have successfully been able to do for years. It has recently stopped working for me all of a sudden on this latest project.

My search bar is completely unusable. I rely on this heavily for a large project I'm working on, since all clips are tagged with markers specifically for the search feature. Adobe, you are costing me valuable work time. Very frustrating, especially for the amount of money I have spent for the Adobe Creative Cloud.

While I appreciate Kevin Monahan's comment below, I can confirm search is not working at all for me currently on projects started on the most recent version (13.0.2 build 38).
Search bar failure is a recurring issue spanning multiple versions, as indicated here by more than a hundred users.
This function of the software is simply broken.
Appreciate a speedy and lasting fix!

Don't update complex project across major new versions of Premiere Pro. Unexpected behavior like this can occur. Try search in a brand new project to see if it works. If it does, your project might have that problem. A workaround might be to import a legacy project into a brand new project. Overall, however, you should start and finish a project using the same version for fewer issues like this.

Yeah, I still get this as well... occasionally it just stops working even after the initial fix update...
