Add Audio To Video In Source Monitor
There should be a function to allow for adding a separate boom captured audio track in the Source Monitor. Often the work flow of an edit is to cut together all the best takes before deciding what audio tracks are required from the separate boom capture. When burnt in time code has not been used it is often necessary to line up the audio to an on camera clap board. However if the editing process has already been finished then it is laborious to move the clips to another track and drag out their head to find the start with the clapboard. However in the Source Monitor it is possible to already view the scrub head back beyond where the in and out points of the edit are. It would be very useful if you could add the audio here and line it up with the clap board at the head of the clip. Then push a button that says 'send to timeline' and it drops in the audio track trimmed at the same in and out point as the video clip into the main timeline. Multiple recordings are often used on set. The synching of these recordings is often through the sound of the clapperboard. Therefore this is a historical and normal part of the film making process. It would be wonderful if Adobe would assist film makers by allowing this process to be incorporated within the software.
