Mapping Any Workspace Shortcut to Any Workspace Without Giving Up Defaults
I would like to assign keyboard shortcuts to my custom workspaces without losing the default workspaces. Currently, Workspace 1 assigns to the All Panels workspace, Workspace 2 to the Assembly workspace and onward alphabetically. The only way to assign my custom Edit workspace to one of these is to modify the default workspace. I don't want to lose the default. Often someone else sits in my chair and expects these default settings.

well, 9 actually.Or allow us to assign any workspace it's own number, then we can use the existing 9 workspace number allocations in the keyboard Shortcuts panel.
But yeah, I totally agree with you both that we should be able to have our own custom workspaces AND map them to the keyboard. I have two computer monitors so ALL the defaults are of absolutely no use to me...
Coming from Avid, this is a real put off - I have three mapped in Avid which I would swap to regularly.

I may not fully be understanding your issue, but if I am - Add a number. I picked this trick up by happenstance when I switched from Avid, where you had to number the workspaces to help the program know what is what. So my workflow was:
Open a default workspace, let's say Assembly.
Make the changes I want.
Save as new workspace.
Labeled it '1) Edit Custom'
It's now above 'Assembly' in the list, and 'Workspace 1' automatically will go to the top workspace in the list.The only flaw in this is it drops all of the successive default ones. So while 'Assembly' is now workspace 2 (and so on) the default workspaces that were at the bottom now have no shortcut.
It's at least a workaround for the time being. As far as Adobe fixing it, really just give us ~25 workspace shortcut possibilities and we could add shortcuts to our hearts desire. It's silly we are limited to 10
Also please note (because it confused me for quite awhile with Premiere) that the changes you made to 'Assembly' will remain that way UNTIL you press the "Reset to Saved Layout" key with 'Assembly' open, then it should revert to its default.
