Essential graphics panel crashes - Low level exception
I have a recurring bug. Windows 10 Pro, 12.1 - updated today - Premiere. EVGA Geforce GTX 980 Ti
I was going to show you how slow EGP is when typing in text, it lags by more and more seconds until I'm watching my letters appears about 10 seconds after I typed them. Co-incidentally it crashed as I was recording it. It does this multiple times a day. Footage is MTS files

Update: The project file, being a beast was 2MB. I made a new project and imported just my working sequence but the text lag is the same.

Me again. Just updated Nvidia (398.11) rebooted. Still get the massive lag. I'm not sure you can see but I type like a normal person, fast, and this text input is about 5 seconds behind me.
https://lucy.wistia.com/medias/hqqp5vyitmI sit back and watch as it completes the sentence on screen. I'm sure that's not right.
With big, long form premiere projects I now work with GPU acceleration turned off. It makes the EGP more laggy but crashes less ... although it still crashes.
What else can I try?

Hi Lucy,
I'm Dacia, a QE on the Graphics team. Sorry that you are experiencing this frustrating crash. Would you mind checking to make sure that your Geforce drivers are up to date? I think Nvidia has a tool that you can install and will facilitate staying in sync with their latest updates: https://www.geforce.com/drivers
Secondly, would you mind checking to see if this crash happens if you are in CPU mode?
You can do this my going into your project settings and changing the Video and Playback Mode to "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only."This will help us narrow down the issue. 😊
Thanks so much,
Dacia
