Support for ProRes RAW
Support for Apple's newest codec, ProRes RAW and ProRes RAW HQ

Hello ProRes RAW community,
as of today, you can start using ProRes RAW in Premiere Pro 14.2 (public release).
Thanks to the large group of people from this thread that helped us during the last couple of weeks in putting finishing touches on the implementation through our beta program.
More info on 14.2 is available from:

Cheers,

This wait smells a lot like they are having trouble implementing prores RAW into Premiere...I'm not going to hold my breath.

Guess It’s time to leave for fcpx after all... tired of waiting in the dark. It’s really disrespectful when you’re business is build around « subscription.
I’ll just keep my cheaper subscription for Lightroom for now. Until I find the time to move to another software. -

Very timely. I was about to cancel Creative Cloud. The only reason I took it up was specifically for Prores RAW - Nikon Z6, Atomos Ninja V.
Interestingly, the Ninja V outputs the RAW files via HDMI out to my 4k monitor in play mode.
Don't have any Mac equipement. Edius 9 comes up with "unsuppoerted codec"? The trial is riddled with restrictions. Avid Media Composer converts the RAW file to DNxHR in a lovely solid green. Fetching. Assimilate Scratch 9 sees the RAW files. Even plays the thumbnail thingie... Nice solid blue. Various installs, Quicktime, etc...
So it's Premier (4 weeks) or I'll just stick with Nlog on Resolve, which is very nice...

John Lam what would you like besides "unrawed" data ?

John Lam commented
At least there finally have an update, late is still better than noting
And I Realy need this to works as the non-raw data is not good enough in my use case -
Michael Theurer commented
regardless of who's "fault" it is, a representative from adobe said we should at least have an update on the matter in Q4 2019.

I guess our cameras will be outdated before you act pay the license and move forward ....

I don't think it entirely Adobe fault. Atomos choose to work with apple to develop prores raw knowing the fact how apple is with there properties. Apple don't make tradition easy for anyone. Blackmagic provided SDK for their codec day one so other could implement it. They even developed a plug-in for the codec to make the life easier on their customer. But atomos is not doing anything beside promoting final cut

Your silence on this speaks volumes Adobe. How pathetic to keep your long-time users in the dark about this for months now. SHAME ON YOU!

Since i was thinking, that you already implemented proresRAW i took a film in that format. now i can't even watch one of the files on my pc :( are there some news concerning the update?

Please give us another update on when you expect ProRes RAW support in Premiere Pro. Clearly didn't get released Q4 and now getting concerned. We've been waiting a long time for this. Very eager to have a concrete release date. September was the announcement that Adobe had reached agreement with Apple over the codec. So many filmmakers have been waiting for this moment.

this is so ridiculous. My subscription expires in April. it is shameful that we who pay lots of money each month should have to sit and wait for this update. I don't think I will keep my subscription after it expires

Patrick, are we now talking Q4 2020 or was your statement for 2019 and it's been bumped to Q1 2020?
-
Michael Theurer commented
It would be nice if we could get the update that we were expecting in Q4, unless of course you meant Q4 of 2020.

Craziest part is I wouldn't be canceling my subscription if they thought **** about their subscribers to at least keep us updated. I'm building a studio and can't afford to slow up my entire workflow because Adobe wants to act like OPEC. This is a complete disregard for their subscribers.

Might be leaving Adobe soon, the wait is unacceptable for this subscription price...

It's really frustrating. I have now installed the test version of Edius. If this works for me I will definitly quit my Premiere account. So sad.
