Premiere 13 has been exporting broken XMLs that don't work in Premiere 12 or Resolve. I finally figured out why: look at the source window monitor on the left (Premiere 12) and on the right (Premiere 13). 10 seconds and some frames off. Resolve lines up with Premiere 12's timecode.10 votes
Thank you for reporting this issue. It is now resolved in Premiere Pro 2019.1. Please let us know if this update does not resolve the issue for you.
In Premiere Pro 2019 the font(s) used in self made essential graphics animations are not being honoured and replaced by the system default font, even though the font is recognised by Premiere Pro.32 votes
Aside from earlier fixes made for Pr 13.0.1, we have some new features to help you avoid such problems in Pr 13.1. They are auto activation for all Adobe Fonts, and a new application preference that lets you choose which font will be used if/when substitution is needed.
Closed captions in mxf files generated from other systems do not import into Premiere. No caption stream is present on import although captions show up in other applications. Please address the font sync errors. I cannot resize the font or change it within the News presets from Essential Graphics.2 votes
This should be fixed as of Ae 16.1 / Pr 13.1 versions.
If you go to Preferences > Labels, click in the name text field and you can change to any name for each label. If you click on the color rectangle (to the right of the name text field), it will bring up the Color Picker dialog where you can set a custom color.
Would be great If I could just double click on the text in the "Essential Graphics" panel and change the text there instead of trying to select it in the Program Monitor.
If the text is really small or have like 10% opacity it takes a lot of extra time, trying to zoom in the Program Monitor, change to the type tool and then select the text.
(Also, sometimes I accidentally move it in the Program Monitor when trying to select it.)17 votes
As of PrPro CC 2020 (14.0), you can double click on a Text Layer in the EGP and the whole string will become text-editable in the Program Mon (PM). So you can just type new characters in that way without having to locate your text in the PM.
Also, there is a keyboard shortcut. Press Opt + Cmd + ’ (mac) or Ctrl + Alt + ’ (win) and your selected text layer will become highlighted for edit.
Finally, for shapes and clip layers, you can now click on the layer name in the EGP Layers pane and edit the name inline there.
This may not be exactly the feature you had in mind, but as you can see, there are some good new options for changing source text and layer names from right inside the EGP.
Had a pretty huge memory leak when a team project was syncing.2 votes
I’m not able to reproduce the issue on my end, and I haven’t heard back regarding this issue.
Upon convert a team project to a regular project, I have random files that became unlinked. When trying to relink them, the file name has change to something like id:locator ...2 votes
Thanks for the feedback – We’ve identified the issue and a fix has since been released.
When duplicating a sequence, some of my audio effects settings, typically my compressor (usually this is a single-band compressor), has its settings reset.
This is EXTREMELY frustrating, especially when other editors need to jump into a project, and suddenly the sound is messed up.
- Set up a compressor on your Bus Track.
- Adjust settings of compressor to suit audio
- Duplicate sequence
- Marvel as all of your settings are intermittently reset
This issue was resolved in 2018. Please ensure you’re using the most recent releases to benefit from the fix and update.
You don't support exporting the h.264 codec any more??? Are you kidding me? I updated my software in the middle of a project (like an idiot) and now I have to use a second program to export my final assets to the desired masters. dv25 and dv50 are going to be the future I see???? What's going on down there?2 votes
more info on changes to File Format support related to the deprecation of Quicktime 7 era codecs can be found here:
As per the suggestion in the comments, H.264 as a codec is absolutely still supported as .mp4
After I set the font, size, edge, color, alignment, etc. on open captions, I export it as a new .srt file and I import this new file into the same project, or a new project on another computer and all the formatting is gone. It is very painfully to do it all over again every time - color, the size, the font etc. I even tried to open the same project in which I did the formatting on another computer, and the formatting goes back to default. Please fix this. Also, I get this bug both on windows 10 and Mac OS Sierra: When I change something in the text, like some words, or modify the size, sometimes it doesn't apply instantly - I have to save the project, close it and re-open it to see the changes.
