Premiere Pro

ANNOUNCEMENT - This forum is moving

In an effort to improve communications between you and the Premiere Pro team, we are moving this feedback forum to the Premiere Pro page on the Adobe Support Community. As requested, bugs and feature requests will be able to live separately in that forum.

This move is happening in part to acknowledge that we haven't been responsive enough here, and we are combining our forums to help remedy that. Ideas and their attached comments from this UserVoice forum will be migrated based on how many people voted for them. Check your profile on the Adobe Support Community to see any migrated posts that you've created or commented on. If you have an item here that did not make the migration, please bring it over to our new home.

See you soon on the Adobe Support Forum!

  2. Support AMD Radeon PRO W6800 on Mac Metal (standalone, not duo)

Premiere Pro supports the AMD Radeon PRO W6800 for hardware acceleration on Windows OpenCL, but it does not support it on Mac Metal. It does support the W6800X Duo on Mac Metal, as that version ships with Mac Pros, but it does not support the standalone version, which you need to use if you are on a MacBook + eGPU setup.

  3. Issue/Bug - nVidia GPU largly ignored when rendering, previewing & creating proxies

In Adobe Premiere Pro 2022, 22.6.2 Build 2, my GPU is largly ignored and the main load put on the CPU. This is true for previewing, rendering and creating proxies with Media Encoder. This was not a problem a month ago. I've even tried different settings in Premiere, different export settings (see screenshots) and different drivers (game ready vs. studio drivers) and there is no difference.I've also searched Google up and down and tried every solution I found but to no avail. The GPU is largly ignored. This needs to be fixed as Premiere is practically unusable at the moment.

  6. Enable hardware acceleration support on Intel UHD 610 graphics card.

    I own a Win 11 compatible computer with a Pentium Gold 5400 3.0GHZ dual core processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, 240GB SSD

As stated by the Intel website, the Intel UHD 610 graphics card is quick sync capable but premiere pro does not take advantage of this capability.

I use video converters like Movavi and also edit videos with Resolve 18. The two apps are able to utilize my GPU for playback and exports, I playback FullHD videos with ease, at full resolution.

No version of Premiere Pro on the other hand uses the GPU. Hardware acceleration is greyed out,…

  7. GPU

  10. Bug of Prores Raw Decoding on AMD Laptops

I'm using an AMD laptop made by ASUS which features Ryzen 5900 HS(with integrated GPU) & RTX 3070 GPU. I've installed the apple prores raw codec. Even if I tried to set Premiere Pro to only run on the RTX 3070 and I set the project to render on Mercury Engine CUDA, it still refuses to decode my Prores Raw footage.

The only work around is to DISABLE the iGPU manually in device manager, and after the project is loaded in PR, we can enable iGPU again. This work around proves that the laptop is actually capable of playing and…

  11. I am having terrible problems trying to use Premier Pro with my new HP Spectre with Intel (R) Xe Graphics. Obviously compatibility issues.

Please fix this compatibility issue with Intel (R) Xe Graphics! It makes it almost impossible to edit.

  16. Needs option to select a specific GPU, so premiere pro can use that on priority.

Needs option to select a specific GPU, so premiere pro can use that on priority.
So in this way Premiere Pro can use a GPU that users feel will work best. It will not just optimised how premiere pro works but also it will boost the playback and render time. Rather than shifting on different GPU's let user select the best GPU he thinks he has. Or at least give option for selecting Multiple GPU ? So in that way be can give priority on which GPU to use first and second so they can be simultaneously be used.

  17. Premiere Pro freezes when using GPU Accelerated renderer

Premiere Pro occasionally freezes when exporting a sequence using the GPU Accelerated renderer, on Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (9th gen). It never recovers (need to terminate the process). This has been going on since approximately version 21. How can we troubleshoot this?

  19. GPU Management

For users who have high end towers with multiple GPUs, it is not uncommon to run our main monitors off lower end GPUs, and drive other display devices with a high end GPU; it would be very helpful if we could select which GPU in the system to render with across all adobe apps.

  20. FIX NVIDIA COMPATABILITY

Based on several posts both within the Adobe forum and in external forums, there has been an known and continuing compatibility issues between Adobe and NVIDIA GPUs for SEVERAL years. This issue causes Premiere's program monitor to randomly go black and stop showing any video; the timeline will still play, and audio will also play, but no video appears. The only recourse is to shut down Premiere and open it up again, but the problem often happens again within minutes. This is NOT unique to work station builds or projects - it has been reported across a wide swath of…
