1. BUG REPORT: Premiere Pro 14.7.0

I have made a Japanese caption layer and some of the subtitles are italics. I see the result in the program monitor and everything is ok.
Here comes the bug...

The exported H264 video has been tagged with ... instead of italics subtitles.
The weird thing is that this happens ONLY in the h264 mp4 because the mov PRORES 422HQ is ok!

(Both versions have burn captions to video option selected on export -exported via media encoder)

2. Make us be able to animate captions

so there's the new captions workspace which makes making captions a lot easier but you can't add transitions and effects and stuff to those captions and you can't animate them either so I think being able to add transitions and effects and being able to animate the text in effect controls would make the new caption thing a lot better.
also please add a speech to text thing it would make life a lot easier. I know speech to text is still in beta testing but it seems to work pretty great from what I've seen from youtube videos (I…

3. Glyph font appears in Caption search and edit windows [Bug]

In PR 15 with the new Caption workflow, the Glyph character set is displayed instead of English language characters. In the attached screenshot you can see:
- Caption search screen displays Glyphs (WingDings?) font set
- Caption block displays correctly in English.
- Caption block displays incorrectly in Glyphs when selected to edit.

Text characters display correctly in the timeline and in the preview panel. Uninstalling and a fresh install of PR 15 upgrade did not resolve the issue.

4. Choice between American English and the rest of the world for captions

For captions, before transcribing, there should be an option of what version of English is required. Currently, I have to go through all the subtitles and change from "American" to "Australian" English.

5. subtitles

Premiere 15 new subtitles: Whenever I add a new subtitle to a long list of subtitles, it always jumps to the beginning of the list and I have to scroll to the end of the list to see and edit the new subtitle. I wish it would always automatically scroll to the newly added subtitle so that it is not only activated but also visible.

6. subtitles

Editing new subtitles in Premiere pro 15 in the Essential Graphics Box: the Delete key works the same way as the Backspace key: it deletes the sign before the cursor (not the sign after the cursor). this only happens in essential graphic subtitles not in "normal" essential graphic fields.

7. export a captions file as .srt or .stl

New update:
Bug

aim:
Export .srt or .stl file

Problem:
New update only allows for (Captions) export as a SideCar file. Alongside generation of media.

Error:
At least one media type must be selected

Workaround:
Export audio file with track muted then delete file.

Solution:
Export settings options:
- Export video
- Export Audio
- Export Metadata

10. Allow captions to be placed anywhere

The new captioning tool severely restricts where captions may be placed. For my purposes I need to have my captions almost touching the bottom of the frame, yet PP 15.0.0 won't allow me to do that.

Even when I adjust the "Set Vertical Position" number to be low enough, it just won't respond past a certain number.

This image shows the lowest that PP will allow the user to place their captions. Why can't we override this??

11. New captions issues

Been using this for like 10 minutes and already frustrated by a few things.
- My forward and back edit hotkeys are W and S, and my left and right by one frame hotkeys are A and D. Whenever I edit a caption's words using these letters, it just switches back to the timeline and performs whatever action I pressed (ie if I type "s" to fix a word, it'll just go to the next edit point and I'll be moved out of the Text window. I literally can't type that letter into the captions).
- Track style is not…

12. Separate X & Y size for subtitle background

With the new captions workflow, where you can treat the style/look of your subtitles with the Essential Graphics interface, it would be helpful if the background size could be adjusted on X and Y separately. Often, not the same space is needed for both. Sometimes, more space is needed on the sides, than top and bottom.

13. Would be very handy if "Split Segment" would just split your caption at cursor position instead of creating two duplicates.

1. User places the text cursor at the desired split point of a long caption segment.

2. User presses Split Segment button.

3. Premiere splits the segment into two segments, with the break point being where the cursor was positioned at the time they clicked the split segment button.

Thanks!

14. New 15.0 caption workflow issues

For the new caption workflow in PPro 15.0:

1) Styles are not saved and useable across different projects.

2) Every interaction with captions sets the 'Text' window back to the first caption so you have to scroll through all captions to the current one to see/edit

3) when a caption 'clip' is selected, it cannot be trimmed with the selection tool

15. Allow use of two subtitles again

In version 14 of premiere pro I could put two different kinds of subtitles onto my video. Now in version 15 if I add a second subtitle line it is automatically hidden. If I click the eye to show it then it hides the first subtitle line. Please let us put two subtitles on a video again (without having to nest).

16. Captions Don't Export with Audio Effect

When exporting an MXF OP1a video, embed captions in the output file doesn't work if I have the effect 'Loudness Normalization' selected. Otherwise captions export. I didn't try any other effects to test it. 608 and 708 captions exported fine unless I had .Loudness Normalization' effect selected.

17. Allow for more customization in the new Captioning tool

The new captioning system is overly-restrictive in terms of dimensions/positioning.

While there should be an option to adhere to standards, there should an option to disable standards and allow for positioning/customization anywhere inside the video frame.

18. Adjustable Subtitle Lengths

After I finish editing the transcript and push the button to create captions, it would be helpful to have one or two options about where to divide the captions. Here's why.
When I'm creating captions for Youtube, I want the auto translator to have the best chance of working correctly by dividing the captions by sentences or phrases. A complete phrase with at least a noun and a verb will most likely be translated correctly.

So if I can specify a preference for complete phrases or sentences that would be awesome.
The captions will be longer than the auto-captioning algorithm…

19. Allow caption import with "empty" lines

Captions are frequently generated by third party captioners with "blank" lines indicating a duration of silence. For example:

1
00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:08,080

2
00:00:08,080 --> 00:00:09,230
Welcome, everyone.

This indicates that the first ~8 seconds of the video are silent. However, when importing that caption into Premiere, it ignores the blank line, treating "2 00:00:08,080 --> 00:00:09,230 Welcome, everyone." as the text for the first caption.

It would be helpful if Premiere could parse the blank line as {empty text} so that the correct ordering and timing of the captions is maintained.

20. Fades for "burnt-in subtitles"

Hi, sometimes it would really be very cool to add a fade-in/fade-out to captions that are only in Overlay mode and will be burnt-into video files during export.

(eg: Opera: singer sings very slowly and a faded caption would dramatically improve the artistic effect of the subtitle).

It is possible to do that in the AVID Mediacomposer.
