Premiere Pro

ANNOUNCEMENT - This forum is moving

In an effort to improve communications between you and the Premiere Pro team, we are moving this feedback forum to the Premiere Pro page on the Adobe Support Community. As requested, bugs and feature requests will be able to live separately in that forum.

This move is happening in part to acknowledge that we haven't been responsive enough here, and we are combining our forums to help remedy that. Ideas and their attached comments from this UserVoice forum will be migrated based on how many people voted for them. Check your profile on the Adobe Support Community to see any migrated posts that you've created or commented on. If you have an item here that did not make the migration, please bring it over to our new home.

See you soon on the Adobe Support Forum!

  1. Add a Fullscreen Button in the Program Monitor.

I'm honestly still surprised that even the latest versions of Premiere Pro CC still doesn't have this feature, Premiere Pro CC really at some point needs to add a Fullscreen Button both in your Computer's Drop Down File Menu and in the Program Monitor so you can actually playback all of your assembled video and audio clips in Fullscreen mode, and then obviously press "Esc" to exit out of Fullscreen mode.

I'm aware that you can use the ~ (Tilda) Key to closely zoom in and maximize the length of each window in each tab which I have used, but…

We have had this feature for many years – Ctrl+Tilde. Esc to get out. I know we have a lot of keyboard shortcuts and you aren’t expected to know them all, but one good way to find out what they are is to open the Keyboard Shortcuts editor from the Premiere Pro menu. From there try searching for commands to see what the shortcut is or even reassign it to something that makes more sense to you. Hope this helps.

  3. What is going on? What's wrong with this software? Constant crashes and slow speed.

Hey there, I've been plagued with endless slow load times, miserably slow saves (taking up to 15 minutes just to save a project), and memory spikes using this software. That I pay for. I'm working on a TV show and don't have the time or patience to deal with Adobe's lack of effort here. There are updates to this software that come up more than once a month sometimes and yet severe bugs and serious media management issues are yet unresolved. 50% of the time I have a second, tiny project open and want to close it, keeping my second…

  4. Error!!! Help!!!

I apologize for using Google translate. My English is not so good.
The problem started a couple of days ago. Here is a video that will make everything clear.
There is only one question. Is it just me or someone else?
And how do I fix this error?

  5. Making better use of the Hardware, GPU for Playback and Debayering and using mutiple cores.

    • Use the Power of GPU for better Playback Performance
    • In General I noticed a much greater Performance with FCPX and Resolve. I would LOVE to see the Performance in Premiere.
    • iMac Pro Hardware support aswell as MacBooks and all common used editing machines. Note: I cant get full Resolution 4K Playback with an iMac Pro (in ProRes or C200 RAW as well as some 4K h.265 from a consumer camera files)

    Hi all,

I'm closing this issue. The reason is that since this post was first created, we have made major improvements in how we use available hardware and, in particular, GPUs. Common video codecs are now GPU accelerated and we regularly add more. (For example, AVC Intra in v23; ARRIRAW in v23.1.)

Improving performance is ongoing work and it's work that has a high priority for us. If you've got specific areas you would like to see improvement in (e.g., particular video formats or processor types), please create a new idea.

    Thanks,

    Fergus

  6. Regular video playback stutters. Premiere Pro 2020

My Video playback on my Timeline and Source window stutter. The screen tears, the video's frames switch frames back and forth while there are no issues in audio playback.

There’s not much to go on, in your post.

If you can reliably reproduce the issue, please reach out to Support and provide files and step-by-step instructions on how to reproduce the problem; happy to pursue it further.

  7. MP4 files turn green/flicker and 'disintegrate' entirely or at random intervals (Mac)

Using PP v14.0.1 on Mojave 10.14.6. MP4 files which look perfectly good in the Finder turn green, green and purple, and or flicker and break up horribly in the Timeline. Same happens on export too.

  11. Since the CC 2019 update, Premiere randomly crashes several times a day.

I've been at work for about an hour and fifteen minutes today, and Premiere has crashed three times so far. I'm not asking a lot of the program, I'm just doing the workflow I've been doing for the last month. This is now worse than Final Cut Pro was when I switched to Premiere a decade ago. What am I gonna do now, switch to Vegas?

As Wes noted, there are some actions people can take to troubleshoot.

Of course, if you are still encountering specific crashes, feel free to report them with specific steps on how to reproduce them. Posts that say the app crashes aren’t actionable by the team especially when the thread describes multiple scenarios.

Crash logs are helpful especially in combination with reproducible steps and system information.

  12. Tons of bugs in 2020 - There's no stability at all.

I find it really hard to still work on your software lately. I have a feeling that you don't test your updates before release. Mark my words, if you won't work on your stability, you will lose a lot of clients, especially now, during the pandemic, where people really work mostly at edits. I'm strongly considering going back to AVID right now.

In early 2020 you released some updates, that seriously broke my workflow. Especially with playback, that started laggin', and crushing, and doing really crazy stuff. It was somehow still possible to work, so I just tolerated it for…

We’d like to help, buttThere’s nothing actionable in your post.

If you can reliably reproduce a specific issue (like the ‘media pending’ you mentioned), please contact Support and provide and necessary files, and step-by-step instructions for how to reproduce it, and we’d be happy to pursue it further.

  13. YOUR HELP MENU IS GARBAGE - BRING BACK THE OLD ONE

I'm really sick of being driven to the website over and over. All I ever find there is the same information. Somehow, I can never find what I'm looking for … instead I get pointed to giant pages of text and videos made by kids.

We believe that Premiere Pro crashed, but without source media and step-by-step instructions on how to reliably reproduce the failure, there’s nothing we can do with these reports.

If you can reproduce the behavior in current versions of PPro, please contact Support and provide files and steps.

  15. Faulty file permissions on quick export

Recently, Photoshop has started assigning fault permissions on quick exported .png files. They lose their inheritance property when they are saved. This causes the file to be marked with access to only the current user. I then have to use NTFS permissions to re-enable the inheritance as the application using the image, which has different credentials to me, cannot see the file.

I have seen that a long time ago, this same issue started occured, disappeared for a few years, and is now re-occurring.

    Kind regards
    Mike Howell

  16. Better CPU Usage when Exporting

I, also, have the same deep disappointment that Adobe does not utilize a multi-core system when Exporting video(H.264, encoding and such). I have a 2018/2019 MacBook Pro i7, 32GB RAM, Pro Vega 20 graphics, also connected to an eGPU Radeon 580x 8GB RAM enclosure connected with Thunderbolt 3, also have an M.2 Enclosure housing a 2TB 2800mb/ps connected thunderbolt 3 to port two on my Mac that keeps cache files, auto-saves, and backups. I keep all media files on a Sandisk 2TB Portable SSD, so should have absolute zero speed related issues references files. They all have separate drives that…

  17. Glitches in exports? Another new issue. Whats going on? Example added.

Glitches in exports is wasting a lot of time, I have found the same issue on multiple systems. In premiere itself the video plays fine, in explorer the video plays fine but as soon as I export the video has glitches in. My software is up to date as well as my drivers. Running GTX 1080TI, I7 8700K 32Gb RAM. Windows. Rendering through software encoding solves the problem but now my renders takes 4 - 10 times longer, in terms a 45min episode normally exports 40 - 60 min. Software encoding the project exports 6 -12 hours. I don't have…

That looks like what would happen if a frame was unavailable for output at the time of render. If you have a project with media, and the output preset (.epr file) in use, please contact Support; we’d be happy to pursue the issue further.

  18. Losing render files

Just gonna start posting about this as often as I can until it's fixed. There's many many complaints about this in the forums. If you need more details on what the problem is, just read any of them.

A professional editing program should NOT be losing render files. Please fix it.
