Premiere Pro

ANNOUNCEMENT - This forum is moving

In an effort to improve communications between you and the Premiere Pro team, we are moving this feedback forum to the Premiere Pro page on the Adobe Support Community. As requested, bugs and feature requests will be able to live separately in that forum.

This move is happening in part to acknowledge that we haven't been responsive enough here, and we are combining our forums to help remedy that. Ideas and their attached comments from this UserVoice forum will be migrated based on how many people voted for them. Check your profile on the Adobe Support Community to see any migrated posts that you've created or commented on. If you have an item here that did not make the migration, please bring it over to our new home.

See you soon on the Adobe Support Forum!

  1. More Anamorphic Pixel Aspect Ratios please (1.5x, 1.6x & 1.8x)

With all these new Anamorphic lenses coming on to the market. We need more 'Common pixel aspect ratios' to choose from. In the Interpret Footage menu we can only choose 1,33x or 2x anamorphic. We need 1,5x 1,6x and 1,8 as well!

Can you guys please include this option in the next Update? This should not be to much of an issue to fix, but it safes us a lot of time! Now I constantly need to change the width and height of every clip on the timeline.

    Hi all,

We are currently working on improving support for footage shot on anamorphic lenses. The first step was to ensure that metadata in formats like ARRIRAW is getting read correctly by Premiere Pro - and that's in beta now - but we have more work to do to add additional lens squeeze factors, potentially adding a custom field for this.

    Regards,

    Fergus

  2. Import media as proxy

    Import media as proxy file.

Often we are sent dailies/proxies (shooting 4k, dailies made at 1080p) which are used to start editing the next day. We do not receive full resolution media to up to a week or so later. It would be beneficial to be able to import the dailies as proxy media so it can mimic the 4k resolution and therefore eliminate the need to resize during the online process and attach the native source media easily.

  3. Importing folders with one file doesn't create bin

I have all of my source footage and audio sorted into about 12 folders. Some of the folders have multiple files, others have just one.

If I import all of these folders into Premiere, any folders that have more than one file get a BIN created automatically. Any folders with just one file don't get a BIN.

I don't see the point or benefit of not creating a bin for folders with just one file. If I'm importing folders, I think it's safe to assume I want to use that structure. I plan to add files to these bins later…

  4. Fix the Import shortcut design flaw in Folder Windows

When you open a folder in list mode and the number of folders fills the window from top to bottom, there is no 'empty folder background' space in which to right click to import files or folders. You can only click on one of the folder rows which will import new assets into a subfolder which is not what we want. There needs to ALWAYS be a sliver of open 'right-clickable' space, either in the margins or at the top and bottom of the folder, regardless of how many subfolders are in a folder. This problem seems to go away…

  5. Import photos directly from LR to PR PRO

All the work done in Lightroom should be easy to transfer directly to Premiere Pro or cross platforms…. Really frustrating!!!

  6. AAF-imported ProRes .MOV files don't work, but AAF-imported ProRes .MXF files do?

I'm starting a new thread for an issue that originally started here:

    https://adobe-video.uservoice.com/forums/911233-premiere-pro/suggestions/45186289-aaf-imported-sequences-not-playing-on-apple-silico

The original post (the title of which I can no longer edit, hence my opening this new thread) outlined an issue that I thought was a general Apple Silicon AAF import problem. But as I dig deeper with troubleshooting the issue, I figured out that the actual problem is that only ProRes .MOV files don't work when imported into Premiere via AAF on Apple Silicon machines. ProRes MXF files, however, import fine via AAF.

Again, this is a showstopping bug. We simply can't use Premiere on our…

  7. New import interface - Ability to use template new projects

It boggles my mind how so much work was put into the new import interface, yet the ability to create template projects wasn't added.

I do this manually by creating a .prproj file with my default bin structure and common elements like adjustment layers HD & UHD, white mattes, black video, etc. Then I copy & paste that .prproj file in Windows Explorer to the project folder.

Really wish it was just an incorporated feature, and if so, the templates get saved to the cloud along with my settings.

  9. Do not automatically add an Input LUT to Arri footage

When I ingest ProRes source footage from an Arri camera, I do NOT want there to be a LUT auto-applied. Add an option in Premiere to disable the auto-lut.

I am familiar with the Interpret Footage > Color Management > Input LUT workaround. I work on projects with ~1200 Arri clips every two weeks... constantly using this workaround is not a good use of my time.

  11. Fix uploading / dragging video to timeline bug in Premiere

Bug: Many of us can't upload or drag video to Premiere. The audio comes in fine, but the video doesn't show up on the timeline. There are workarounds for this, but it seems to be a bug.

  12. There should be Import button in Bin

most of us use to Dubble click in bin to import anything, but when bin is full we are unable to find empty space for dubble click. I personally want import button in bin tab to quickly click on it and get to the files in PC.

  13. NO LUT ON IMPORT!!!!

    NO LUT ON IMPORT !!!
Common. Nobody had that stupid idea for last 15 years!!!

Every time I open Premiere I have to "Interprate footage as REC709. Every folder. Fcuk. I have a lot of seperate folders. All my friends are saying like me "Fcuk" and make it the same.

We never had to do it for last 15 years. Why we have to now??? Did we do sth wrong to somebody???

Simply: I import materials SLOG3 from my Sony Cameras and everything on the timeline looks like ****. Too yellow, overexposed. Is this my material? Do I have to…

  15. Premiere not detecting audio in C100 footage

Premiere is not recognizing the audio on my C100 footage when I import it. When I look at the audio in the source monitor, there is no wave form there is no audio on playback. When I try to sync by audio Premiere gives me an error that it can't beacause there is no audio. The audio is there when I play it back in VLC media player. Sometimes when I replace the footage, or make it offline and then relink it premiere will pick up the audio. But not always. This is happening on 3 different Intel based PC's…

  16. Ascept Ratio Issues with H.264-SDI Codecs Recorded in Blackmagicdesign Hyperdeck Studio

The Hyperdeck Studio Pro, released by Blackmagicdesign, has H.264 - SDI recording.

    H.264 - High (Mid/Low) has a 4:2:0 chroma sampling file, and H.264 - SDI has a 4:2:2 chroma sampling file.

There may be some differences between the two settings, but the H.264 codec is the same.

By the way, there is no problem when importing H.264 High file, but when importing H.264 SDI file, Ascept Ratio imports 1.0075 strangely.

I thought it might be a problem with the file, so I imported it to Davinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Fusion Studio, and it has the same Ascept Ratio…

  17. Bug: Dragging folder directly into bins is only importing some not all files

I have several folders of 30 or more shots and if I import them by dragging the folder into a bin, only 4 shots will import with the folder. The only thing they have uncommon is they are .mp4 but there are other .mp4s that do not import too. If I select them all and drag them into a bin I create they will all import at the same time, just not if I drag in the folder.

  19. Videos section is broken.

The movies tab can not access files properly. On top of it being the only file that's name has been forcibly changed from "videos" to "movies". Figuring that out is an waste of time for anyone who opens the program.
On top of that, there must be some special set up to make the folder work by default. None of my files would appear in my "videos/movies" folder. Once I moved the file out of the folder, it showed up anywhere else.
