ANNOUNCEMENT - This forum is moving

In an effort to improve communications between you and the Premiere Pro team, we are moving this feedback forum to the Premiere Pro page on the Adobe Support Community. As requested, bugs and feature requests will be able to live separately in that forum.

This move is happening in part to acknowledge that we haven't been responsive enough here, and we are combining our forums to help remedy that. Ideas and their attached comments from this UserVoice forum will be migrated based on how many people voted for them. Check your profile on the Adobe Support Community to see any migrated posts that you've created or commented on. If you have an item here that did not make the migration, please bring it over to our new home.

See you soon on the Adobe Support Forum!

  1. Fix wrong colors in MP4 0-255 files

PrPro/AE interprets wrong color space when import MP4 0-255 8 bit files. Specifically it happens with Lumix GH4/GH5/G7 etc. cameras. This bug appears in each version of adobe products. Look at https://forums.adobe.com/message/10289914

  2. Bug: getInsertionBin() returns root bin of wrong project

In Extendscript, we are told to use project.getInsertionBin() to get the root bin to use project.importFiles()for that project.
When there are more than 1 projects opened, the project refers to the correct project name, but getInsertionBin returns the root bin of an other opened project, which is not the one from app.project.

  3. Live updating folders within the project

It would be amazing to drop a folder into premiere and whenever its updated in finder (or windows equivalent), the folder gets updated in the premiere project aswell. Eg. I drop a folder into premiere with 5 videos in. I then upload more videos to the original folder in finder, and those videos automatically get put into the premiere project too.

  4. BUG: V14.0 Audio Sync Issues on Import (Premiere Pro 2020)

Hi, after updating to Premiere Pro version 14.0 video clips imported playback out of sync in the program and source monitors. The clips play fine in any video player outside of Premiere. I'm primarily importing MP4 files. I tried renaming the files from MP4 to MOV but it's still out of sync inside Premiere. I shoot with a Canon C100 and switched the camera to record .MTS files - same thing. My only workaround was to switch to Premiere Pro 2019 where clips are playing fine.

  5. Version 14 not recognizing Panasonic P2 in Media Browser

After installing ver 14 (2020), I noticed that Premiere doesn't recognize Panasonic P2 media. It only sees the separate .mxf files/folders but not the card/folder as spanned clips. The Directory viewer only shows/allows the "File Directory" option. The Panasonic P2 is greyed out.

However when I switch over to ver 13.1.5 (2019) media browser works flawlessly and gives me the option to view File Directory and Panasonic P2.

Any way to correct/fix this? Is this a build issue?

  6. BUG: Importing folder structures from Finder (macOS) fails to create matching bins

I've been given a drive with a Footage folder, within which are six subfolders for each shoot day. Each folder contains Sony F7 footage from one or more cards, but the folders are not set up identically. Some have the data as expected, some have that nested within an XDROOT folder, and others have multiple cards, within which are the XDROOT folders. But at the bottom level, each folder structure is identical. However, when I either Import or drag and drop the Footage folder into Premiere, all the footage is lumped into one Footage folder, but one folder 'Day 4'…

  7. By enabling import of multiple folders in the Windows 10 version of Premiere just like the Mac version!

Windows has a seperate button on the import window "import folder", while the Mac version imports multiple selected folders in the windows version it is one at a time.
Please fix this it's not nessersary to do one at a time.

  8. Dynamic link between File Explorer/Finder and Premiere Projects

Make Premiere projects live-link with files in their folders. Example: I drop a file into "documents/premiere projects/Test Video/Media" the file shows up in a premiere bin. Same applies for deleting/clearing files.
    .
This would make ingesting so much easier, and make it much faster to import graphics and other last-minute files. No more having to dig through tons of Windows to drag files into premiere.
Would be super nice to have if it's possible. Would definitely give Premiere an advantage over pretty much any other editing software.

  12. Link bins to different OS folders

In my projects, i generally have two different bins that import from two different folders on my OS. i create assets for these folders on the fly. Every time i create an asset and import it into Bin1, i have to navigate to it in the Import prompt. Then i create an asset meant for Bin 2, and again, i have to navigate through the OS prompt to that bin before i can import.

Why can't i just tell a Bin to always point to a specific folder, so that when i import, it automatically navigates there FOR me? Bonus…

  13. support 3rd party video capture codecs

On windows I cannot add any 3rd party codecs for capturing via Blackmagic capture. Being limited to uncompressed video captures when capturing multiple hours of live production is killer. This works on Mac, why not on Windows?

  14. media browser

When I have a a folder with a lot of subfolders in it, the media browser (and the "locate files panel") will not show the existence of that folder. It seems it can't display a folder with many subfolders in it. Really frustrating as in Windows explorer it displays just fine. I know I can drag and drop into the project panel, but a lot of times I need to be able to use the media browser and "locate files" panel!

  15. Import video from iPhone

After the last update on my iphone, I cannot import video smoothly. I can only hear the sound and the video playback is jumpy and buggy. I did not have this problem last week.

  16. Editing PSD file imported into Premiere as individual layers messes up the layers visibility in Premiere.

There is a problem when You import a PSD file into the Premiere as individual layers, and then try to edit this PSD file in Photoshop. After photoshop changes are made, and the file is saved, it does not update corectly in Premiere Pro - the visibility of PSD layers is completely messed up. When you choose particular layer to be imported (in "import as individual layers" menu) and then change this layer somehow in PS, the whole PSD file in Premiere gets messed up after updating itself. This bug is present in Adobe Premiere since 2015 version; I have…

  18. media browser

Expected Behavior: When Importing a clip in Media Browser, stay in Media Browser. Like previous versions of Premiere Pro.

Current Behavior: Premiere switches to the Project Panel and you have to manually go back to Media Browser and scroll down to where you were.

Additional Option: In case Adobe made a conscious choice to change the behavior from earlier settings, have a setting that allows you to stay in Media Browser after import (allow users to switch this on/off)

  19. When copying a clip from project to another, ask where put media

I work for an in-house agency so many projects include reusing footage from previous projects. Having multiple projects open to hunt for footage is really helpful, however, when I find a great clip from a sequence is project B,C, or D and copy it into a sequence from project A, upon import it duplicates the whole folder structure that clip was in. I organize all my projects mostly the same way so I get a new "Video Media" folder for every clip I import from another project. It would be REALLY helpful from a project organization standpoint if I had…
