Premiere Pro import marker colors in FCP XML files.
Currently, Premiere Pro ignores marker colors in FCP XML files that are imported. It would be helpful if it would import the color as well.

Smart import - premier should know if the files have already been imported and give operator option to exclude dupes
Is there a simple way to either prevent Premiere from importing the same file into a project twice, or perhaps some sort of script that will automatically tag imported files in the finder?
The slight issue that we often have material added to our assets folder constantly as we're cutting, and it becomes difficult to keep track of what media has been imported and what hasn't, and we'd like to avoid having multiple instances of the same file in our projects.
Any workarounds or solutions?

BUG: Premiere is changing DSLR footage color upon import
How can we improve Premiere Pro?
← Premiere Pro
Your idea is being processed and will appear shortlyBUG: Premiere is changing DSLR footage color upon import
When I import my Canon 80D footage into Premiere, heavy contrast is applied. The blacks or crushed and the whites are blown. I cannot recover the color data through color correction. The only way I can have my footage imported normally is if I import an After Effect Comp with the footage in it. I am looking for a solution inside Premiere so I don't have to create AEcomps for every clip. It…7 votes -

Add setting in Preferences to "Create folder for imported items"
A coworker just instructed me that if you import .xml sequences into the project window, the sequence AND all its assets will import loose into the folder you drag it to.
However, if you import a .prproj file, you get the option to check the box "Create folder for imported items".
Once checked, all future XML files will import all its assets into a new file.
Could this be added as an option in Preferences as well, since there is no reliable way to know how to do this?

STOP DUPLICATE MEDIA FROM BEING IMPORTED
This has not been fixed even though Adobe has claimed to fix this.
I have the media in one master project. My assistant has a their shared project. I open a small sequence from that project and drag the media from it it into my main project. EVEN THOUGH I ALREADY HAVE ALL THE MEDIA, I STILL GET DUPLICATED MEDIA. And on top of that it creates a separate folder for each small clip of footage. Take a look at the attached screenshot.
This is horrible. Fix this asap please. What's the point of shared projects if we can't move…

MP4 importing Audio Only (tried every workaround - none work)
I imported 60 mp4 files into a project, 15 of which were audio only. I tried every workaround I could find on the following pages:
https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2486467
https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2477123
https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/premiere-pro/kb/premiere-pro-imports-audio-only.htmlI was using version 12.1.1 and have tried installing every version back to CC 2017 and have tried importing .mp4 and with the extension changed to .m4v, with the Mercury Playback Engine in both CUDA and software only, each time deleting all the media cache files between restarting the software.
I have been unable to transcode the files using Media Encoder as it too doesn't recognise the video and shows up as…

Importing from another project takes a very long time (on Mac)
On the latest Mac version of PPro 12.1.2 (build 69), importing sequences or projects either using the media browser or by copy/pasting sequences from a project to another takes a very long time. The beachball appears like the program is not responding, it takes from 1 up to 5 minutes to finally finish the import. It was not the case using the 2015.2 version of PPro. It is very annoying and a waste of time when having to import multiple sequences from other projects.

Importing of empty folders.
I would like you to make it possible to add empty folders into premirere pro.
I organize all my stuff before i start premirere pro. That's means alot of the time i don't have the FX: music ready before i'm done editing. But i still want the empty folder in premirere and i can't :(
Please fix this.

Bug report: Using Dynamic Link Importing Adobe After Effects project into Adobe Premiere Pro dialogue box pops twice?!
When I try to import Adobe After Effects project into Adobe Premiere Pro I get a nasty bug the import dialog box popping twice. The first time does not matter what I click, it does nothing. The second time it picks the composition. That bug is when by right click and import, or double click import, or drag and import. However, if I go and do it from the menu, it works fine, no problem. It does not come up twice. Check the included video for a better explanation. PLEASE FIX that nasty bug!

media browser
Expected Behavior: When Importing a clip in Media Browser, stay in Media Browser. Like previous versions of Premiere Pro.
Current Behavior: Premiere switches to the Project Panel and you have to manually go back to Media Browser and scroll down to where you were.
Additional Option: In case Adobe made a conscious choice to change the behavior from earlier settings, have a setting that allows you to stay in Media Browser after import (allow users to switch this on/off)

BUG: Creation Date / Date Time Digitized metadata not accurate.
When footage is imported, the metadata reads incorrectly, shifting the Creation Date and Date Time Digitized timestamp by several hours. It shifts by different amounts for different cameras. There is a long thread on this in the forums that has never been solved (https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2087685).
Adobe personnel remotely took control of my computer to diagnose and they too, were at a loss. Many people are having this problem. It makes editing in sequence with multiple cameras nearly impossible. There is also no workaround. All cameras were set to record date/time accurately and synced accordingly. Fix your bug, folks. It's…

Bug: Premiere Pro hangs on clicking "Import" in bin context menu
Whenever I right-click on or inside a bin and select "Import", Premiere Pro immediately hangs. It seems to work fine if I go to Explorer and drag files into Premiere.

Importing AfterEffects project asks twice for composition
Whenever I drag-and-drop an AfterEffects project into my project, a dialog pops up asking me to select composition. I do so but then the same dialog pops up asking me to select the composition I'm interested in, which I have just done! So I select the composition, again, and then Premiere is happy. However, I am not happy. I should only have needed to have selected the composition once and Premiere should have understood. Doh!
