ANNOUNCEMENT - This forum is moving

In an effort to improve communications between you and the Premiere Pro team, we are moving this feedback forum to the Premiere Pro page on the Adobe Support Community. As requested, bugs and feature requests will be able to live separately in that forum.

This move is happening in part to acknowledge that we haven't been responsive enough here, and we are combining our forums to help remedy that. Ideas and their attached comments from this UserVoice forum will be migrated based on how many people voted for them. Check your profile on the Adobe Support Community to see any migrated posts that you've created or commented on. If you have an item here that did not make the migration, please bring it over to our new home.

See you soon on the Adobe Support Forum!

  1. Export tab playhead behaviour

Prior to V22, hitting CTRL+ALT+M would bring up the 'Export Window'. The playhead of the export window would reflect the most recent position of the playhead in your project timeline.

In V22 and beyond, the playhead of the new Export Window preview is now independent of the playhead in the project timeline. If you primarily export 'Source In/Out', this means the preview frame in the export tab is often nowhere near the segment you are currently trying to export, and must be manually moved.

I propose the addition of a simple setting:

    Export Playhead Behavior:
    -Independent (current default behaviour; playhead…

  2. Bug with Embedding Captions on MXF Export in 23.0

I went to render out an episode and chose to Embed captions in the export and instead it burns in the captions. A pretty big issue for those exporting for broadcast.

  4. Scratchy Audio Exports after v.23.0.0 update

All of my exports are rendering with scratchy audio after the v.23.0.0 update. Even old files that I've re-exported. I've tried all the different audio export variations and am getting the same results. The audio sounds fine in the preview but after export is scratchy and spotted.

  5. Add export destinations that follow the user not the sequence

On the export destinations I'm able to create a new destination but when I change the source the new destination disappears. I don't want to create the new destination for every source that makes no sense. If I create a new destination it should show up on all my projects nor just a sequence.

  6. Quick Export should have "match source" as default.

First, It has caused me to export to the wrong format multiple times, and second, doesn't it make sense to just "match source" since the sequence is already customized by the editor?

  7. Audio Multichannel export broken after v.23 update

We use 4 channel audio within an mxf op1 container. After the v.23 update, my export preset with 4 channel audio doesn't export 4 channels of audio anymore. It exports 1 and 3, with channel 2 and 4 only with a pop at the beginning. This happens when i apply the "loudness normalization" effect at export for EBU R128 compliant audio. Works fine for a 2 channel setup, but for 4 it doesn't work anymore. Same preset i've used for years. Remade the sequence, nothing, remade the preset from scratch, same result. Just had a full 30 minute show not…

  8. Bug: ProRes 4444 output on macOS always includes Alpha (YUVA)

Adobe Premiere Pro 22.2.0 (Build 128)
    Adobe After Effects 22.2

Export a sequence with format "Quicktime" with preset "Apple ProRes 4444" (and leaving the video depth at 8-bpc or 16-bpc) results in the output file having YUVA formatted pixels.

This happens on all macOS systems we have (mac mini, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro).

On Windows systems, resulting output file is YUV (as expected).

Confirmed with 3rd party FFmpeg's ffprobe and MediaInfo tools.

Expected behavior: same format file output on both Windows and macOS platforms. YUV output when non-alpha depth is selected.

macOS Big Sur 11.6.1 on MacBook Pro (both Intel…

  9. Audio Remix Tool can't export to AAF

    Hi there.

So when using the new audio Remix Tool for example with music and trying to export to AAF Premier crashes (version 22.4).

Am able to export all other audio layers to AAF when deleting the music track where the Audio Remix Tool was used. Have to export the music track separately as a flattened file.

  11. Banding issues caused by Premiere Pro Render Engine

I work on several broadcast shows in LA and we are having major issues with our exports to Apple ProRes 4444 out of Premiere Pro introducing terrible banding issues within the export file. I have seen discussions about this problem for years. Is there a solution yet to this major issue obviously emanating from the Render Engine within PP? Please let me know as soon as possible because it is having a negative effect on our shows.

  12. export location option does not display active files that exist

When exporting, there seems to be a bug where I cannot see previous renders I want to overwrite when selecting the file location. For instance, I render out my sequence as prores and find a mistake. I go back to export and choose the file location, but the prores file to replace is not listed. In fact, no files show up. Just an explorer window that says no items match your search. Please adobe fix so we can see and replace files when we export. I'm on windows 10, latest PP version (22.3.1)

  13. New export interface - Don't save "Range" in presets

It seems that presets now include the Range selected - or maybe this was always the case.

Range should never be included. I seem to have increased occurances where having previously selected in/out, then changing preset, the range will change to "Entire source" or another option.

This has lead to accidentally exporting more than I intended. If I go to Export with an in/out range marked, it's because I only want that in/out range exported. Please consider ignoring the range in presets

  14. BUG: Massive loss of sharpness in downscaled export when negative Lumetri sharpness is used on an Adjustment Layer

Weird bug (or totally bizarre expected behaviour) here. Premiere Pro 22.6.2 (build 2) on M1 Max Apple MacBook Pro, short edit of 4K/10 bit material in a 4K sequence. 4K Adjustment Layer in place doing small Lumetri tweaks including -10 sharpening, applying a vignette, and a 'blur vignette' via a masked gaussian blur effect. No proxies in use.

Program Monitor looks good, as expected, and so does exporting at 4K using a Match Source preset - identical result. But exporting to 1080 or 720 causes large degradation of sharpness and overall quality.

Disabling Adjustment Layer resolves the issue. Further, disabling…

  16. Getting asked 3 times to confirm overwriting a file is overkill

    Premiere version 22.5.0

I used an existing filename to overwrite an existing file and had to confirm that I wanted to overwrite it 3 times in three different popup windows. 3 TIMES??? Such a waste of my time. One confirmation is a great way to not accidentally overwrite a file. It used to be 2 and that was a little annoying, but now 3. I really don't understand.

  17. Export overrides outpoint when a disabled clip is on a locked track

I've noticed that when I have a disabled music clip in a locked track that is 3 minutes long, but I've set my outpoint at 1:30 for the other video content, the export still includes the other 1:30, overriding my outpoint. I have tested this on many timelines and is consistent.

  18. Bug in AAF export

I like Premiere Pro's remix-to-duration feature in the essential sound panel for music clips. However, the clips with this effect end up in the wrong timeline position in AAF exports.

  19. For content creation it'd be a good idea to be able to save cut clips into separate files.

For marketing purposes and content creation for social media it'd be necessary to export multiple clips made from the razor cut into multiple files.

The razor cut's feature makes it easy to pick apart pieces of the content you wish to use. If there are multiple clips from a file, there is no feature to export them. This would be very useful

    https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/video/hub/guides/how-to-split-a-clip-in-premiere-pro

  20. Bug: export via media encoder - colour transforms bypassed

Downgraded to 22.1 (issues with files not linking). Accessing projects that have been edited in different versions of 22.

Exported a 'video mixdown' layer and placed on top track. There are a few shots (basically any that have been left with default interpretation of slog3) where the colour transform in the PP sequence has not been honoured in the AME export.

Suspect this is probably a bug that may have been squashed in later versions...
