  1. H264 export results in skipped frames on M1 Max for both software and hardware encoding

Using an M1 Max 64gb MacBook Pro with Premiere Pro 22.2 running on Apple Silicon creates weird skipped frames and frame hold on a simple export of a clip from a longer video.

The same clip exports fine on an Intel iMac running Premiere 2020, so this is definitely more issues with H264 encoding on the M1 Max.

  2. More options for creating EDL's

While most people seem to be taking XML's for sending projects to resolve or whatever, I still would really love to see more EDL options in Premiere.

The reason being is that they are INCREDIBLY useful for creating documents for production. I've had to work on Avid for a project recently and the amount of options Avid gives you for EDL's was such a tremendous help and it's killing me that premiere doesn't have the same options, such as

1.) No limit on the number of audio and video tracks that can be exported

2.) being able to export frames…

  3. Please index files and videos when choosing location in the export screen

When you click on the Location tab in the export window, the explorer window does not index any other file (folders only). I usually like to see what draft I'm up to in the export, and change the file name to the next draft number in sequence, but since the new update, no other videos or files display in the explorer tab when selecting a new location.

I can't see what draft I'm up to, or what the file names are (usually different to the premiere sequence)

  4. Export Media File Location - FIX Empty Folder Screen!!

When exporting, I click on [location] of the folder to open the folder. I am always making variations on previous video files. SO... I click on the folder location and click on an existing file name, then change the file name to include the updated version number or date to the file name. HOWEVER! in the new update, when I click on the folder location inside the export window, I see NOTHING. This is terrible. Please allow me to see all files within the folder, when I click on the folder location!

  5. Make it work properly/reliably with M1 Apple Macs

The latest version of Premiere Pro simply doesn't work reliably with M1 Apple Macs. I get export glitches all the time, they don't appear on the timeline. The only workaround I've found is to open Premiere with Rosetta and turn off "hardware encoding" and instead use "software encoding". This is of course much slower and is not sustainable when I can very reliably use something like DaVinci Resolve instead (which is free by the way!), so unless this is fixed very soon my days are done with Adobe.

  6. What happened to the quick export shortcut? It used to be if you tap ctrl m twice it will export automatically and now they changed it. why?

What happened to the quick export shortcut? It used to be if you tap ctrl m twice it will export automatically and now they changed it. why? change it back. I need to be able to press ctrl m twice for easy exports. I can't believe they did this to me. and the information on why they changed this or the new way to do it is nowhere.

  7. ProResHQ Export (embed CC in output file) moves all audio tracks on output file

Exporting a 12ch Multichannel SEQ to ProResHQ with Embedded Closed Captioning in output file. Under audio tab in ME, select 12 channels and export.

When CC is embedded in output, all audio channels get moved one channel off their original track in the output MOV. This is unusable.

When CC is disabled on the same seq export, audio channels are correct.

    Please fix.

  8. Export to indvidual clips based on timeline markers

I would like to be able to export to multiple individual clips based on timeline markers. For example if I place three markers I could export four clips:

Clip 1: from start to Marker 1
Clip 2: from Marker 1 to Marker 2
Clip 3: from Marker 2 to Marker 3
Clip 4: from Marker 3 to Marker 4

It would also be useful to be able to select a sequence of clips and export those as multiple clips e.g. between Markers 1 to 4 and export the three clips.

  9. Heavy artifacts when exporting from to h264 on MacBook Pro M1 Pro

Issues when exporting in h264 using a MacBook Pro M1.
Timeline is mainly footage in h264/h265.

The same problem doesn't occur on other machines (PC or intel-based MacBook Pro)

This seems to be an ongoing issue for many people.

Maximum render quality doesn't fix it
Premiere 22.4.0 (beta) doesn't fix it either.

Please solve this as soon as possible.

  10. Can’t export AAF from Windows Network Drive

Our team is unable to export an AAF when media is on a Windows SMB3 share. An Adobe tech support rep has confirmed that this is our issue with the network drives on Windows.

Apparently, Premiere Pro on Windows has an issue reading files larger than 10 GB when exporting an AAF through an SMB3 drive. Premiere hangs at the Breakout to Mono step.

Premiere requires Breakout to Mono to be selected in order to embed audio into the AAF. We need our audio embedded to send out to remote sound designers. Our export settings for the AAFs are:
    -Breakout…

  11. Bug: ProRes 4444 output on macOS always includes Alpha (YUVA)

Adobe Premiere Pro 22.2.0 (Build 128)
    Adobe After Effects 22.2

Export a sequence with format "Quicktime" with preset "Apple ProRes 4444" (and leaving the video depth at 8-bpc or 16-bpc) results in the output file having YUVA formatted pixels.

This happens on all macOS systems we have (mac mini, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro).

On Windows systems, resulting output file is YUV (as expected).

Confirmed with 3rd party FFmpeg's ffprobe and MediaInfo tools.

Expected behavior: same format file output on both Windows and macOS platforms. YUV output when non-alpha depth is selected.

macOS Big Sur 11.6.1 on MacBook Pro (both Intel…

  12. H264 Audio Drift on export

Premiere/AME, when outputting an h.264, the audio drifts, regardless of the fps. The solve is outputting a ProRes file first, then compressing that file in AME. This drift can be a frame or two, or several seconds, depending on how long the sequence is. And it's a real drag.

  13. show files in media export tool file requester dialog

In Premiere 22.3 and 22.3.1 Media Export interface, when you click on "location" to select the file destination, you can no longer see the existing files in the pop-up Windows file requester dialog. In the previous iteration of the export tool, you could always see the existing files. It was so convenient to be able to click on a file to over-write, or to click on a file to duplicate and modify a file name. Currently, there is no way to see what files you have already created without separately spending time opening the location directly in Windows.

  14. exporting option into a word doc for transcriptions

I wanted to export my transcript in an editable form such as notepad or word doc. Am I missing how to do this? I don't know how to open a .prtranscript file and can't find anything on it. I want to be able to take the script out of premiere and make changes.

  15. BUG: Black artifact when rendering (tint-mask-bug)

I've created a project with a text element saying "Goal 2:00" which acts as a mask to a grain background texture of white-grey color. I want the "2:00" part of the text to be red, so I apply a Tint effect to transform white into red, and apply a mask to the effect to cover only the "2:00" part of the text. All of this is done using Essential Graphics.

Then, on the main sequence, I add the text on top of a blue background, and add a reversed slide transition that makes the text appear from right to left.…

  16. Bug: New export page slow & unresponsive in Premiere Pro 22.0 Version 22.3.0 (build 121)

PP 22.0 export page is slow and often unresponsive. Editing, composting, rendering effects ... all working fine. Use the Control + M command to export and no response. Restart the app, select the new export tab and the export window appears. With patience, you can select settings, but painfully SLOW. Successful export in sequence preview settings (UHD ProRes422HQ). Running on Windows 10 Pro Ver 10.0.19043, i9-7900X CPU 10 core, 64 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti

  17. The New Export Panel has its own independent work area and current playback position

When I go to the Export panel, the playback head is in a different position than it was in the editor, and the work area is also not matching.

I can at least get the work area to match by selecting "Source In/Out" but it would be more ideal if, like the old export panel, the default work area for export would be the same work area as the sequence has set, and the same with the playback head, which is important for exporting single frames. The export panel gives you more options when exporting a single frame than the…

  18. Fix Export... why did you break it???

How do I select a file to overwrite in the export dialogue??? When I click on the box to name the file I should get a file window open - but someone over there thought it was a great idea to make us guess and type in the n file name.

  20. Export tab playhead behaviour

Prior to V22, hitting CTRL+ALT+M would bring up the 'Export Window'. The playhead of the export window would reflect the most recent position of the playhead in your project timeline.

In V22 and beyond, the playhead of the new Export Window preview is now independent of the playhead in the project timeline. If you primarily export 'Source In/Out', this means the preview frame in the export tab is often nowhere near the segment you are currently trying to export, and must be manually moved.

I propose the addition of a simple setting:

    Export Playhead Behavior:
    -Independent (current default behaviour; playhead…
