  2. The new captions panel for Hebrew is not yet there.

When you published the Beta version, the Hebrew captions problem was solved (it was perfect). but then, when you published the 2021 update (v15) the Hebrew captions in the panel were fine, but what you see on the program panel is reversed! please make it better again and fix this problem in the next update...

  3. New Caption style should repeat previous caption style

In the Premiere Pro Beta, when I create a new caption, it should have the same style as the previous caption by default

  4. Keyboard shortcut for in/out point for captions

When listening to the audio to type the caption, it would be nice if we could map a shortcut key to set the in/out point to the CTI

  5. Transcript translation

For the transcript panel, it would be great if it can also do a translation into different languages as well (meaning if the audio is in English, it can translate it into Spanish)

  6. Proper subtitling/captioning tools

After trying out the new captioning in Beta, I'm fairly disappointed. This does not solve any of the issues I've had earlier – it basically just serves as a shortcut for the current shortcuts one can do via EG in AE. What I miss:
    1. I would like to have the option of having background per line (not one big rectangular for all text)
    2. I would like more freedom in designing the look of the subtitles (shapes, rounded edges, animations etc.)

  7. Flexibility to move captions

It is very painful to use captions while still editing a project. Every time you make changes like adding a new scene, you have to move each caption one at a time to accommodate for new captions. Can you please make captions movable the way other clips are, whereas you can select a bunch of them at once and move them on the timeline as needed?

  8. More creative control of Text in Open Captions. Specifically, Leading and Kearning options, and Background Customization.

Please add more customization options for the Open Captions tool. Leading and Kearning would be great, and the ability to customize the background box. Ex. Rounded corners

  9. Enable keyboard shortcut modification for captions

Enable keyboard shortcut modification for captions. There's currently no easily identifiable way to commit text in captions; when you press enter/return it just goes to a new line, and when you press esc, it deletes everything you've just entered. There should be an option to reassign the esc key to commit text, to bring the caption shortcuts in line with the graphic/titles shortcuts & the shortcuts for the captions window should be easier to find within the program, along with the Adobe website. This suggestion has been previously implemented in Photoshop, and was received well by the community.

  10. Please allow different styles on different caption clips in same track

Right now you can make multiple styles, but only apply one at a time to a caption track. You can individually edit the style of a single clip, but not apply a style to it. It would be great if we could define multiple styles, and apply them on a clip by clip basis. for example, 2 people talking where the text is centered under each person, or a different color for audio descriptions.

  11. Glyph font appears in Caption search and edit windows [Bug]

In PR 15 with the new Caption workflow, the Glyph character set is displayed instead of English language characters. In the attached screenshot you can see:
    - Caption search screen displays Glyphs (WingDings?) font set
    - Caption block displays correctly in English.
    - Caption block displays incorrectly in Glyphs when selected to edit.

Text characters display correctly in the timeline and in the preview panel. Uninstalling and a fresh install of PR 15 upgrade did not resolve the issue.

  12. Editing caption timecodes missing from v.15

I noticed that the ability to edit a captions timecode in the Text pane is now missing. I used that quite a bit before the update to v.15 and I really miss this feature. Please add it back in as it's really useful for having precise captions. Thanks!

  13. Add the ability to delete multiple captions back in!

I like the new updates to the captioning tool in the v.15 update, but not being able to select and delete multiple caption blocks is really bad! When I have a big video I'm cutting down this is essential. I know I can edit the SRT file outside of Premiere Pro but this takes a lot longer. Please add this back in!

  14. Transcript Editing

When making edits to the generated transcript, same as the captions editing annoyance is the inability to tab through sections of text. Also frustrating is that when double-clicking into a text section, the entire section is selected and not just the word that was clicked on. Making edits takes much longer when having to find the offending spelling/word (since things have now shifted) and then needing to reposition the cursor to be able to start to fix the error.

Why does the transcript need to show the timings on the side and break up the text by time? When exported…

  15. Please allow for line spacing within closed captions

It would be very useful to be able to increase or decrease line spacing within the captions tool.

  16. Add "import script" to cross-reference auto-generated transcript.

The auto-generated captions feature recently added is wonderful! I look forward to seeing some of the UI streamlined in the future.

My idea is this: in the transcription menu, add an "import script" option (or call it whatever) where you can copy/paste text (preferably rich text) for the program to cross reference with it's auto-generated transcription. The program already does a surprisingly good job, but this could ensure 100% accuracy for videos with pre-scripted content. Paired with the automatically timed captions, this could be a very useful addition!

  17. Resize text in the transcript window

In the transcript window, allow the user the ability to increase the size of the text. As I get older, the color and size of the text make a difference.

  18. Preserving Caption Timing and Formatting

When modifying/editing captions on Premiere Pro, in order to avoid timing being out of sync during ingest on YouTube.com, a blank “bumper” caption must be added to the top of all caption sequences. This is only needed for .scc caption files as .srt seems to have no issues with maintaining the timing for each caption set by the captioner. It would be convenient to stick to .srt as the standard captioning file, however specific formatting that occasionally must be used (top-placing captions, italics, etc) are lost in .srt when uploading to YouTube.com. The metadata tags are translated incorrectly and odd…

  19. Support a caption/subtitle file format that includes positioning (such as TTML)

Premiere 2021 has a much improved captioning & subtitling workflow, but it has a huge weakness in that the only import and export format it supports is SRT, which does not preserve position info.

Our clients (which includes big ones such as Netflix) generally require us to reposition a caption or subtitle when it obscures a character’s lips or when it obscures on-screen text. Often this can be as simple as just moving a caption/subtitle instance to the top instead of the bottom.

However, the SRT file format doesn't support any positioning info at all. So, even though Premiere itself…

  20. Export transcript to text file with timestamps

When transcribing a file within Premiere and exporting the result to a text file, it would be extremely helpful for that text file to include the timestamps.
