  1. Needed PROFESSIONAL functionality; MPG2 and MP4 CC encoding needs to happen

A vast majority of small-medium market television stations require .mp4 and/or mpeg2 for delivery; And in my experience most don't want to deal with a sidecar file (or don't know what to do with it). PLEASE, Adobe, add this functionality; Apple compressor has had the ability for 20 years; MacCaption/Telestream costs 7k and adds additional time and expense. We, your users, shouldn't have to go to another company's product line to fill the gaps for functionality that we've been asking for for years. Your new CC workflow is great! Now, let us use it! If I'm already having to go…

  2. Carry Transcript Tab Choices Over to Captions

The captions are working better than ever in 2022, and editing in the transcript tab works quite well. Unfortunately the formatting choices aren't carried over to the caption tab.

When captions are created from the edited transcript, Premiere ignores the speaker selections completely and will go ahead and combine lines from two different speakers. It also seems to ignore if you divide a line from one speaker into chunks for better caption timing. Please at least offer an option to honor the formatting choices in the transcript tab when creating captions, as editing in the transcript tab (splitting lines right…

  3. "number" is always translated as "no" with transcribe

the new transcribe/captions function works great but always transcribes the word "number" or "numbers" as "no" which makes sense as an abbreviation but should always be spelled out for transcript purposes.

  4. 2021 Captions in Nests need to be able to exported as SideCar or Embed via Master Sequence(s)

2020 Premiere allowed for captions to be placed in nests and would then show up in a master sequence and exported as embeded closed captioning or side cars. With the latest 2021 update, this is no longer possible and allows for burned in captions only. This is detrimental for workflow. Please allow nested closed captioning to be exported as embedded or side cars in a master sequence.

  5. Glyph font appears in Caption search and edit windows [Bug]

In PR 15 with the new Caption workflow, the Glyph character set is displayed instead of English language characters. In the attached screenshot you can see:
    - Caption search screen displays Glyphs (WingDings?) font set
    - Caption block displays correctly in English.
    - Caption block displays incorrectly in Glyphs when selected to edit.

Text characters display correctly in the timeline and in the preview panel. Uninstalling and a fresh install of PR 15 upgrade did not resolve the issue.

  6. flexible start point for transcript timeline

if you are editing multiple videos in one project as sections of a larger compilation then at this point it is not possible to export an srt file for each individual section as the content will be timestamped to the entire project instead of per the In and Out markers which designate the video component which is being exported. It would be great if the user could designate that the transcript start point should be the same as the In marker on the project.

ie: video #2 starts at 10 minutes so the transcription that relates to video #2 starts…

  7. captions unsyncronize

After I modified the transcript of a sequene and make captions from transcript. The captions are unsyncronizes in the wrong place. After edit the transcript Adobe premiere should inspect to find the text entered in the video and place it in the right place. Also, a posibility to enter the transcript that we want and premiere analize it and place it in the corrent timecode could be an amazing feauture.

  8. Tweaks to caption functionality

The transcript and caption functionality are real time savers, but could use some improvement for a better subtitling workflow.

    1) From the Transcript window you can split speakers, but Premiere doesn't use this information when creating the captions. It will often put lines from 2 different speakers together in one caption, which isn't great for subtitle purposes. It will also leave a large time gap in order to do this. For example somewhat might say "Oh." and then several seconds later another person will say "What do you think." Premiere will create a caption that says "Oh, what", and then…

  9. Disabled Caption Clips Display Wrong Color

When I look at disabled captions/subtitles on the timeline, they are inconsistently colored/shaded and I cannot see if they are enabled/disabled without zooming in. Terribly terribly confusing. Shown in attached screenshots. The first 2 captions look enabled until I zoom in a little.

  10. Caption editing window in Premiere Pro 2022 not functioning

Just updated Premiere Pro 2022 and the caption window is super buggy. The caption window won't let me edit individual captions that I imported, won't let me scroll through, and won't add new captions. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, ran updates, still having the same issues.

  11. Fix the caption editor.

I started using the caption editor when I was approved for early access to the automatic transcription feature.
This feature is great, and I only need to make the occasional minor correction (usually proper nouns and punctuation), but the problem is that the text editor for the captions is...well, for lack of a better word, complete garbage.

It has a ridiculous amount of lag between a click and the action that click was supposed to perform actually taking place, and often it will seemingly randomly highlight sections of the text as I am typing, so an action as simple as…

  12. Need to be able to italicize just a single word instead of the entire sentence in a caption

In PPro 2021, italicizing a caption or subtitle is an all-or-nothing thing.

If I click the "Faux Italic" button, the entire line is italicized. I can't italicize just a single word.

  14. Adding Effects to captions

Is there a way you could add support for Effects to Adobe Captions? even just basic key frame movement would be great as it would save me and a lot of other YouTubers hours in subtitle animation!

  15. Add catalan language to Speech to Text (Transcription)

Speech to Text is a great feature, but we can't barely use it, because most of our content is in Catalan language. It would be great if it was added. It is a language spoken by more than 10 million people (mostly in Spain, but also in some parts of France and Italy). And it is supported by other transcription platforms.

    Thank you!

  16. Transcript export does not work when sequence ends with an Asterisk (*)

Transcript export functionality stops working for text, .csv, etc when there is an asterisk at the end of the sequence name. Selecting a transcript function simply fails to open the export dialog box.

Removing the asterisk is a functional workaround. I tried a few other special characters and no others reproduced the same bug, just the asterisk.

  17. When transcribing a sequence, before creating captions, saving the project should also save this transcription. Edits all gone after closing

I spent a good 4 hours editing a transcription that Adobe Premiere Pro transcribed for me in order to create captions but I had to end my day before finishing and hitting the "create captions" button. I kept saving it constantly throughout the time. Next day I opened the file and the entire edited transcription of the sequence is GONE. It doesn't create a separate file or anything to refer back to. I crossed my fingers and hoped the edits would return after transcribing them again... nope. All the speaker names are gone, all of my 4 hour edits are…

  18. Import my own script

I would love the ability to import my own script (text file) into PP Beta to use during the Transcibe/Captioning build process. I have very long videos at times and going in to fix punctuation, capitalization, acronyms and so on is very time-consuming. We have Scripts already that have been reviewed and are perfect.

  19. BUG REPORT

For one file in one folder, the "transcribe" worked.

For a second file in a second folder, the "transcribe" feature did not work.

The first folder had this name: 2021-09-20

The second folder had this name: 2021-09-30 - last one here

When I changed the name of the second folder to this, it worked: 2021-09-30
