  1. Improvement on caption editor

Right now it's a little clunky and difficult to editor captions/transcripts.

First, if I try to edit the transcript, the field box is constrained and doesn't allow me to expand the dimensions of the box. So if I want to make a change to the text, I need to click inside the box and press the down arrow button several times to get to where I want to be (and to be able to see it).

The other issue is that I can't change transcripts/captions on the fly. I have to make several clicks to stop the video, go in…

  2. BUG: Edits to Captions not saved.

When using the cations feature, and trying to edit automatic transcription of audio, it often won't save. I then have to re-do the editing of the captions sometimes up to 5 times before it holds.

  3. Teach French Canadian to the Transcription AI.

The AI is very efficient with English, but has a lot of trouble with French. Maybe diffenciate French, from France and French from Canada.

  4. Allow captions to be edge-panned for social media video formats

In previous versions of Premiere Pro, you were able to modify the resolution of the caption/SRT file in order to be able to stretch the captions to the edge. This is especially needed for certain social media video formats because it allows for more characters, which is often needed in 1:1 and 4:5 formats.

Now, however, it is not possible to modify the captions file anymore (I usually import an SRT file), and it's therefore not possible to edge-pan the caption track.

Can you please add an option so the captions are able to be stretched all the way to…

  5. Export transcript to text file with timestamps

When transcribing a file within Premiere and exporting the result to a text file, it would be extremely helpful for that text file to include the timestamps.

  7. Bug in captioning feature

Hello. Yes, the new auto-transcript and captioning feature is great. BUT, a very bothersome bug is hindering my ability to use it.
The auto-transcribe feature does a very decent job, but what I'm finding is that when it makes an error and I retype into a title card to correct it, oftentimes Premiere will show me the corrected version and then, while I'm working in another title card further down the timeline, Premiere reverts the card I had just corrected to its previous text. This has been happening many times, often several times with the same card. I've tried saving…

  9. Captions to Essential Graphics titles conversion

Open captions are becoming increasingly popular in online video and social media, with a lot of different styles employed to make videos stand out.

For example, different colours or fonts per user, per-title animations, transitions between the titles, and unusual positions based on who is speaking.

This is not currently possible with the captioning tool, which restricts your ability to edit titles within the capabilities of the caption format you are working in.

Instead, users have to rely on third-party tools to convert a caption file to graphics or titles; or have to manually create Essential Graphics titles for each…

  10. PLS, PLS, PLS bring back the ability to batch export captions directly from the Bin.

This used to be easy. When working with hundreds of sequences, it's not feasible to individually export SRTs from the Text Panel. And when doing it from the Export Media dialog, you HAVE to do it alongside another video or audio file. Sometimes our caption sidecars are exported months after the videos, and I would currently have to create hundreds of new videos just to export a sidecar. Before the redesign, I could simply select all my caption files in the bin, and then choose "Export > Captions." I'm BEGGING you to reinstate this function

  11. Caption Track height

It's easy for the Caption track to get buried in the interface. I seem to be able to adjust the direct height of the track with the option key but I can't adjust the space the caption area takes. I know engineering wants it to stay within a fixed space but it's too small.

  12. Import my own script

I would love the ability to import my own script (text file) into PP Beta to use during the Transcibe/Captioning build process. I have very long videos at times and going in to fix punctuation, capitalization, acronyms and so on is very time-consuming. We have Scripts already that have been reviewed and are perfect.

  13. Have multiple subtitle tracks visible at once

Currently in Premiere you can only have one of your subtitle tracks visible at once. This can be annoying because each track can only have one style.

I had a scenario where I wanted to subtitle multiple speakers, each with different colours, however only one style can be assigned per track, and only one track can be visible.

The work around was to create multiple sequences and then nest into the main sequence, however this isn't ideal.

  14. Create Captions dialog box "style" selection bug

(note: I had to choose "closed captions" for this bug report even though what I'm trying to do involves open captions)

Newest PPro version (15.4.0, build 47)

The "style" selection box in the "Create Captions" dialog box that pops up when trying to create captions from PPro-transcribed text does not let you choose a style. See this video for evidence of the bug: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLBoKYyfKcY

The style selection box works as expected in Beta version 22.0.0, build 31.

  15. Transcription feature request - align current text

I currently use Transcriptive by Digital Anarchy to transcribe and then caption in PP.
A very useful feature of Transcriptive is the "align current text" where by you can import a text file containing your script and then use the transcription service to align this content to the voice.
This would be a great addition to the native transcription service in PP.

  16. Improving the auto-transcription and captions workflow

I've been working intensively on subtitles for years and after forcing myself to use the auto-transcript and captionning workflow of Premiere for a few days, I have to go back to the tools I developed myself because it's much more efficient that way. Here are some feedback for future improvement:

    • Optimize the workflow for translations. That's one of the main uses of captions. As of now, my trick was to create two layers with the same captions and hiding one so that I could always have the original language visible.

    • Make new shortcuts to edit the texts more easily. Right…

  18. The new captions panel for Hebrew is not yet there.

When you published the Beta version, the Hebrew captions problem was solved (it was perfect). but then, when you published the 2021 update (v15) the Hebrew captions in the panel were fine, but what you see on the program panel is reversed! please make it better again and fix this problem in the next update...

  19. Auto-transcribe preferences for grammar and common words.

It would be great to have preferences for grammar (such as use of oxford commas), and an auto-correct for common words (similar to a "find and replace" function in a text program), so that the AI knows to flag and correct those words/punctuations in realtime as opposed to requiring extensive editing after transcription has completed.

    Thanks!

  20. Auto-transcribe numbers beginning sentences, and "dive"

I've just finished correcting auto-transcribed captions for over 8 hours of audio, and have noticed the following consistent bugs:

    1) When numbers begin sentences, such as when numbering items in lists, the number is never capitalized. I've seen this occur with at least numbers one through five.

    2) The word "dive" is always transcribed as "dove." This has occurred consistently across 6 different speakers and voice/speech types.
