[BUG] Can't jump to next caption
After working for a while, I can't jump to the next or previous caption with the arrow buttons in the text panel.
Also, a shortcut for this would come very handy to make fast editing possible.

Fix open caption font problem
I'm having problems selecting specific font styles from certain open type font families I've installed. I can select say, a bold option, but the font doesn't change. Super frustrating 😬

Problem that occurs while typing Japanese.
The problem occurs while typing closed captions in Japanese.
If I press the backspace key before finalizing the character conversion and try to correct it, the input is finalized.
Please make it so that pressing the backspace key does not confirm a character conversion before confirming it with the enter key.
Please fix this problem.Best regard.

Captions need some more work.
At the moment when I select the top alignment (one line subtitle aligns at the top of the caption) and the bottom center zone the subtitle jumps to the center of the screen. When trying to move it it locks at 0 and doesn't allow me to go into the minus values.
Only way around that is to align at the bottom and hit enter at the end of every single line sub. However this practice is going to cause a problem for sure sooner or later. The background should be able to be adjusted by length and hight individually.

BUG REPORT: Premiere Pro 14.7.0
I have made a Japanese caption layer and some of the subtitles are italics. I see the result in the program monitor and everything is ok.
Here comes the bug...The exported H264 video has been tagged with ... instead of italics subtitles.
The weird thing is that this happens ONLY in the h264 mp4 because the mov PRORES 422HQ is ok!(Both versions have burn captions to video option selected on export -exported via media encoder)

Choice between American English and the rest of the world for captions
For captions, before transcribing, there should be an option of what version of English is required. Currently, I have to go through all the subtitles and change from "American" to "Australian" English.

Better keyboard workflow while editing captions.
I have been using the new captions workflow for some time now and the one thing that has bothered me from the start has been the flow of moving from one section of caption line to the next. When finished with typing into the textbox from one, it would seem logical to be able to tab down to the next and continue typing. The same would apply in reverse should someone want to move back up a textbox. It would also be great to be able to have a keyboard combo to place a new caption by doing something like…

subtitles
Premiere 15 new subtitles: Whenever I add a new subtitle to a long list of subtitles, it always jumps to the beginning of the list and I have to scroll to the end of the list to see and edit the new subtitle. I wish it would always automatically scroll to the newly added subtitle so that it is not only activated but also visible.

Paste text with line break in the captions panel.
When we are going to create a caption it would be interesting when pasting from a text editor to the premiere, to be able to use line breaks as new captions.
This would speed up the captioning process when we already have the text.
Another feature is to place an expansion bar or button in the transcription area.

New captions issues
Been using this for like 10 minutes and already frustrated by a few things.
- My forward and back edit hotkeys are W and S, and my left and right by one frame hotkeys are A and D. Whenever I edit a caption's words using these letters, it just switches back to the timeline and performs whatever action I pressed (ie if I type "s" to fix a word, it'll just go to the next edit point and I'll be moved out of the Text window. I literally can't type that letter into the captions).

Separate X & Y size for subtitle background
With the new captions workflow, where you can treat the style/look of your subtitles with the Essential Graphics interface, it would be helpful if the background size could be adjusted on X and Y separately. Often, not the same space is needed for both. Sometimes, more space is needed on the sides, than top and bottom.

BUG: cursor disappears when making changes to closed captions
This happens every 15 minutes or so. The cursor lasts longer when I reset preferences, but it's very frustrating. I have to restart the project every time.

Convert CC tracks to essential graphics
With the new CC/subtitles work flow, it's only possible to show one CC/sub layer at a time. Most of the time, we use multiple onscreen languages at a time so it would be neat if you could, after importing and dragging your .SRT to a CC track, select your Subtitle track and convert all titles to Essential Graphics clips that you can use on a video layer. It would then be possible to show multiple languages all at once as burnt in subtitles.

Adjustable Subtitle Lengths
After I finish editing the transcript and push the button to create captions, it would be helpful to have one or two options about where to divide the captions. Here's why.
When I'm creating captions for Youtube, I want the auto translator to have the best chance of working correctly by dividing the captions by sentences or phrases. A complete phrase with at least a noun and a verb will most likely be translated correctly.
So if I can specify a preference for complete phrases or sentences that would be awesome.
The captions will be longer than the auto-captioning algorithm…1 vote -
Allow caption import with "empty" lines
Captions are frequently generated by third party captioners with "blank" lines indicating a duration of silence. For example:
1
00:00:00,000 --> 00:00:08,0802
00:00:08,080 --> 00:00:09,230
Welcome, everyone. This indicates that the first ~8 seconds of the video are silent. However, when importing that caption into Premiere, it ignores the blank line, treating "2 00:00:08,080 --> 00:00:09,230 Welcome, everyone." as the text for the first caption.
It would be helpful if Premiere could parse the blank line as {empty text} so that the correct ordering and timing of the captions is maintained.

Fades for "burnt-in subtitles"
Hi, sometimes it would really be very cool to add a fade-in/fade-out to captions that are only in Overlay mode and will be burnt-into video files during export.
(eg: Opera: singer sings very slowly and a faded caption would dramatically improve the artistic effect of the subtitle).
It is possible to do that in the AVID Mediacomposer.
