  1. Support export/import of AAFs with embedded media to/from Pro Tools

Premiere Pro is not set up for professional prep and post with a pro sound design team. When exporting AAFs they show up all over the place in protools (and with no automation/key frames). And similarly, when bringing back into premiere, a professional sound mix AAF with embedded media, the program can read the sequence, but not the media. Grrrrr.

  2. Audio speed time remapping in premiere pro

Audio speed time remapping in premiere pro
in premiere pro as all we know speed time remapping of video layer is this: (right click > show clip keyframes > time remapping > speed.)
why something like this is not in audio layer?
my problem is that i have to gradually speed up and slow down clip multiple times. after 4-5 times of video speed edit with smooth speed ramping it completely loses audio sync and needs hours of work to match it with its vide.
    what could be the solution?

I think it would be ideal if adobe adds function…

  3. Premiere Pro 12.1 - duplicating sequence resets audio effect to zero

I use a Tube-modeled Compressor effect on most of my dialogue clips (with the Voice Thickener preset).

Sometimes, when I duplicate a sequence, the settings of those Tube-modeled Compressor effects reset themselves to zero in the new sequence - output gain is set to zero, ratio is set to 1:1.

I just duplicated a sequence 5 times, each time I saw that behavior. Then I relaunched Premiere Pro and duplicating worked again. - This is a new bug/behavior of 12.1.

  4. Allow iXML metadata to display as part of audio clip name

    Dear Adobe,

I have seen that Premiere Pro can already read into iXML metadata on audio files for quite some time now. This is however buried fairly deep into the metadata panel where it is of no real use to video editors working with these kind of files.

Audio engineers on set often add useful information about the different channels (which tracks are which lavaliers, boom, etc.), which is very useful information for audio post-production. As picture editors we often do a first pass on audio tracks/layout or even finish audio in Premiere Pro altogether. Being able to see this…

  5. Multiple audio transition lengths

Could you make it possible to have multiple standard audio transition lengths? 2 for instance :) This way, I could bind transition 1 to one key, and transition 2 to the other.

I usually use 2 frames for dialogue and 30 for music. Now I have to change to the default length in my settings constantly.

  6. render nested audio slow / multicam editing with source audio

If I use audio from a camera directly cut into a sequence I get waveforms and I never have to render. If I cut from a multicam group (nested) into a timeline so I can do live switching, I have to render the audio and suddenly it takes 3 hours to render 3 minutes of audio. So I leave nesting on, cut in the video, turn off nesting, cut in the raw audio and I get both waveforms and don't have to render. Please either fix how audio in a nest works so that I get waveforms and it can…

  7. ixml

Allow audio clip track names in audio clip mixer to pull from iXML data in poly WAV files (i.e., A1 reads "Mix L", A2 reads "Mix R", etc. instead of "Audio 1", "Audio 2")

  8. Essential Sound Panel – Option where you can adjust the loudness level manually

It would be helpful if you could manually set you desired loudness level, sometimes you don’t want to have your Ambience at -30 LUFS and rather have it at -40 LUFS for example.

  9. Batch Audio Syncing.

Merging Clips to audio one at a time is much too slow, this comes especially true if I sound files are delivered in .wav folders as opposed to polywavs and I need to subclip those together.

It would be nice to be able to make multiple different sub clips at the same time based on time code. Avid does this feature incredibly well and premiere needs to step up to the plate.

  10. Default Audio Output does not switch with System

When changing the default audio output within Windows 10 (say from speakers to headphones) while Premiere is open, Premiere switches to a different output than selected and can never be switched back until the application is closed and restarted. Once restarted, the audio output works, but the devices shows up twice in the audio settings, both say (not working), even though they do (see attached image). Note that I only have two audio outputs, even if Premiere is showing three.

Also, Premiere should follow whatever the default output is set to at on startup, or have an option to do…

  11. Fix DeHummer when rendering/exporting

DeHummer works in preview, but it is ignored in the final rendered video. It is also ignored when rendering from Media Encoder.

  12. Fix AAF export in Premiere 2018

AAF export is basically broken in premiere 2018.

My sound engineer either gets missing audio clips in my aaf's or the timeline will sometimes consist of 4 clips under each other that have no audio in them.

Also, fix the audio metadata issue with merged clips ;-)

  13. Audio Suddenly Doesn't Work in Timeline

Audio suddenly doesn't playback in a sequence. But if I copy and paste into a new sequence in the same project - it works. I have tried, restarting and relinking but still no audio playback until I copy into a new sequence. Then after some time, it happens to the new sequence. Happening in numerous projects.

  15. "LFE Only" passthrough option in 5.1 Track Assignment

An extremely common scenario is to receive a finished film with an existing 5.1 mix as 6-track mono. In order to use a surround effect (such as Loudness radar) you need to map those mono tracks to a 5.1 master track. It's trivial to assign L / R / C / Ls / Rs tracks with the audio panner - but there's no way to pass through the LFE track "as is".

You can set the LFE level to "0.00db" but you're still going to get audio routed to either the front or surround L/R channels (or both) depending on…

  16. Ability to change the name of audio channels

It would be great to improve the way audio channel names are used in PP :
    - First the ability to keep the audio track names from the audio/video recorder (cantar, sound device). Like in MediaComposer
    - Second, to manualy change their names like "Boom 1", " Boom 2", "George",....

  17. "Set gain to" now waits for "Calculating Peaks..."

In PP 2019, the Audio Gain window now waits until peaks are calculated to enable the "OK" button. In previous releases, you could apply a "Set Gain To" change and immediately hit OK without waiting for calculation. This adds significant time to our workflow

  18. Automatically generate markers based on BPM

Seriously this is such a critical feature that premier lacks.
    - User provides bpm, start/end points then markers are generated automatically, synced to the beat.

As of now users have to manually tap to add markers to the beat, which is not precise unless you zoom in and tweak everyone of those markers - a tedious task which could be easily automated.

    p.s.
Either that or please enable the function to import markers as a .csv file. Reason being, Audition has the ability to generate markers based on bpm automatically, it can also export those markers as .csv files. HOWEVER…

  19. Batch Audio Syncing like pluraleyes

I often record audio separate from my in camera audio and sync them in post. Sometimes after a day of interviews I have lost track of which audio clips go with which video. I want to lasso all my video and audio clips and hit a sync button to match them all up with one another. If this could be done in Prelude that would be great as well.

  20. bug - "Generate audio waveforms" doesn't do anything

It's a great feature, but it does nothing. What's worse is that Premiere is even more likely to show no waveforms as of CC2018.

This is particularly true for compressed formats (mp3 for example). I use mp3 a lot because that's what all the stock music websites use for watermarked previews.

Sometimes clearing all the media cache files fixes the blank waveforms, but not always. Either way, I've never clicked the Generate Waveforms button and had something happen.
